Ultor Rapax wrote:Wait a moment! You said I cannot fly purchased starship instantly because I need some long training. Is that correct? Cannot I speed up this training or buy qualifications required? All those ships you named are different. Like someone asking what you want for lunch and you say "a cup, a fork, a spoon, a plate and some food".
Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here? Where are you going?
Study this and go fly your newbie ship through the tutorial and career agent missions. When you figure it out, then you can better ask what tools you need to accomplish this or that in this game. GÇö+¬GÇö |

fooooorrrr...
Marauders are HORRIBLE for exploration!
btw this isn't WoW, bigger doesn't mean better. Forget all you have learned in every one of those fail games. This is EVE. GÇö+¬GÇö |

Ultor Rapax wrote:Marauders are apparently best suited for missions and NPC fight but not PvP fight. Am I right? So your plan is to mission run in high sec? Marauder is adequate, though a standard T1 battleship or navy issue battleship is the more common for lvl4 mission runs (highest mission lvl in high sec is 4). But then also the lvl4 missions can be speed run with a cruiser, such as a T2 or T3 cruiser. And also there are some that run Assault Frigates against lvl4 missions in high sec, be it duo or solo. So, no, there is no clear cut biggest is best for things in this game, like I said this isn't WoW and you should forget all that biggest-is-bestest thinking.

I don't know what racial ships you plan to train, but if it were Caldari, I'd say kestrel first few days (for career agents). Then caracal attack cruiser for a couple weeks (lvl1-lvl2 missions and sisters of eve epic arc) while you train Drake for lvl3 missions. After a few months when you have your core skills up start training for a T1 raven. After you have spent 3-6 months on the raven buy a CNR (Caldari Navy Raven) as you further improve your battleship skills. After that you would train towards Marauder or train other things depending on what more you want to do. Marauder... probably more towards Incursions. Or back to cruiser/battle cruiser training and take your Drake or T3 cruiser into lvl4 missions or DED sites. Or further train frigates for PvP and/or factional warfare mission running. Just a lot of options, really.
Edit:
Quote:I looked into "starshop" in the game and ship's prices are quite interesting:
- standard battleships - circa 170 mil. ISK - Marauders - 1.0-1.2 bil. ISK - Black Ops cruisers - 0.85-1.3 bil. ISK - heavy assault cruisers - 200 mil. ISK - heavy interdiction cruisers - 250-320 mil. ISK - recon cruisers - 150-220 mil. ISK - strategic cruisers - 160-200 mil. ISK
In sum Marauders and Blac-Ops Cruisers are several times more expensive than remaining vessels!
There are no Black Ops "Cruisers". Don't worry about prices, when you have the skill you will be able to afford fleets of them. I did two lvl4 missions last night in high sec and roughly made 100m in total from mission payout, LP's, loot drop and salvage. Some missions pay better than others of course. GÇö+¬GÇö |

Ultor Rapax wrote:Is it possible to have multiple vessels (my own fleet) and flying them simultaneously as one character? No, like every other mmo, you can only log in one character per account. Otherwise you need more accounts. "Multiple vessels" you could count as drones though, as some advanced drones are frigate sized.

Ultor Rapax wrote:I see. Is it true Marauders can carry five drones? Depends on size of drones vs. skills. My Battle Cruiser can carry and fly 5 drones. My CNR can carry 20 drones and fly up to five, six if I add a module for it. Yes i believe a marauder can carry five drones, five large drones, but fly them is another matter, and again bigger isn't always the better. I find light drones the most useful for mission running. Its Just a very expensive loss mail in the making. That being said you can only play the game the way you find fun and if this course will be fun for you, by all means do so. Just be sure to do your research so you know what you are getting into. Welcome to EVE and Have fun His first day playing, he probably hasten finished the basic tutorial. Almost seems so absurd it makes me wonder if this is some kind of alt account joke/troll.
But if for real...
The first T2 frigate I skilled for I still fly often. I can do things with it that no other ship in the game can do. True, I tend to dump some 250m isk into building one now, into a T2 frigate, but that's the perks of being a vet player and knowing how this game works... well some of it anyway hehe, my portion of it. And in doing so, If I were to hire/contract out my services, my clients could potentially be making 500m-1billion isk an hour. Bigger doesn't mean better, and I can do the same thing with a three month old account with that T2 Frig even as I do now. GÇö+¬GÇö |

Nah, he fixed his post after I mentioned that there were no black ops "cruisers". If he were a troll-alt he would have left it for kicks, as intentional. So I think he is on the level, just brainwashed by WoW thinking and all it's clones hah. *grabs some popcorn* where will the thread go next...
--- Just relax, dude, undock and have fun. Those frigates are some of the best fun in the game. GÇö+¬GÇö |

Ultor Rapax wrote:Gosh! Another bunch of losers believing in conspiracy theories. New player have just come here and he wants to buy large ship. Sure! He must be an "alter-ego-troll-account"! Watch out! Troll! Pathetic... nah-nah don't get all offended, it happens here. Well not so much in Q&A, but out there in especially like GD it happens often. People have multiple characters/alts that you don't know who they are connected to and some have multiple accounts and post with them to start trouble too. Some people like having a lot of fun on the forums, troll, make crazy posts, agree with themselves using other characters, all sorts of stuff. So it's not you, just the nature of these forums. But you're not one of those, not yet at least heh GÇö+¬GÇö |

Quote:That's why I do not want to fly capital ships outside high-sec space. I only aim to buy warships capable to stay in high-sec space all the time. Anyway: "I was dreaming about Marauders until I discovered...Machariel!" Again, no place is safe. I can put more isk into a CNR, even a frig, compared to say buying a carrier capital ship, and still get blown up in high sec just as easily as a cap in null. There certainly is PvP in high sec, and the only safe place is to just not undock.

Ok so you didn't like any of the advice offered to you, I can respect that. So since you are going to go in such a reckless direction (IMO) you are going to need protection and training, no? I mean lets face it, space is a harsh environment, so you will want the help of others, yes? So once you purchase you character and your multi-billion isk ships, you will want to join a fun high sec alliance. I suggest joining goonswarm federation for your endeavors. They are a fun loving high sec mission running alliance, just what you will be looking for... I'm sure. You just send them an application in-game, they will request a small retainer fee (marginal compared to your new account), then let them know where you are. They will probably want to come out and see how well you run missions and offer any help in the mater. But yes, Sir, a man of your caliber, having the uber ship and vet account, you deserve goonswarm and no less, you haven't hit the big-time until you have such things and are connected to one of the fine alliances of this game. Best of luck.
