Don't u just wish that you could reuse your invested time ????????
When i was a noob i trained mining lvl5, refining lvl5 and other useless skills. I haven't touched a roid for last 6 month or so. And every time i see those skills i think of how much time i wasted just because i didn't know what i can do in EVE and was looking for myself. It makes me cry. I wish CCP would let us reuse those skill points and put them into a skill that you need or want. Because it takes so damn long to wait to enjoy the game to the fullest. I'm sure a lot of the players would agree with me.
CCP please look into it. And if possible make it happen.
And people that agree with me can sign here.

Let me be the first to say "No"
Theres been many reasons why this has been rejected again and again, as countless posts appear from it. I can recall a few off hand, such as "older players would become insanely more powerful because they could actually specialize more heavily". If you look through the forums you will find them somewhere.

Learn from your mistakes... it is much the same in RL I have more than 4 mill SP's in Industry, but besides from building stuff, I never use them. It is part of the game, you evolve as a player and move to other parts of the game. If I could switch skills it would be cool, I would be able to get some really mean Gunnery and Missile skills
Forget about it, I don't see why CCP should make this possible! _____________________________________________ Our users will know fear and cover before our software! Ship it! Ship it and let them flee like the dogs they are!

Edited by: Mic Helin on 27/03/2006 06:55:56 I mean if u have a rank 2 skill up to lvl 3, then u can transfer it to another rank 2 skill. And not train a bunch of rank 1 skills and drop the skill points into rank 8 skill.

No.
It is about versatility. You have the skills now, who knows when you might want to jump into a mining barge. Maybe do a mining ops with your n00b corpmates to help them out with ISKs, etc.

Ok, so, older players get more powerful, or people change to the FotM. Still doesn't change anything, just changes what people change in terms of skills.

Edited by: JamesTalon on 27/03/2006 07:13:18 Alright, but these threads don't get anywhere. Its been said that "signed" threads don't do anything but create spam.
Oh, and since you seem to think by saying "people who agree with me can sign here" means people who don't agree with you can't post here, let me point out that you don't have any actual power to prevent people from posting their own opinions.
EDIT: Oh, and we aren't signing here, see any of us doing that? Just the one guy who I have a feeling is an alt anyways.

That's one of the best ways to get your thread locked. If you didn't want disagreement, you shouldn't have posted on a public board, especially one with "Discussion" in the title.
And no, horrible idea, as others have said.

Since I feel an instinct urge to disrespect everyone who makes these pesky, caps'ed topicnames... I hate them, feels like screaming. I hate-hate-hate HATE!!
And thus, I will disagree with you.
This dead horse have been beaten to death, buried, dug up, beaten some more and been buried again. Why go on? People already read the dev blogs and train hard before the patch to have the current best overpowered weapon combination. Read, "Flavour of the Month".
And since you're even trying to take over this forum by statin' "this be me topic! all whom disagree, be gone!", Im going to disagree some more. This forum is for everyone, if a topic with an (although bad) idea is started, its free for discussion (although for like the 657468th time), flaming, trolling spamming and then, inevitable, locking.
If this idea would be implented, one would only need to train half the time. I would specialice in industrial, lvl 5 straight through in mining. Oh my, the corp is under attack! *Poof* Im an expert fighter, great reroll. Here comes my inty of doooom. *Poof* Damn, they rerolled to some anti-inty specials! We lost, , didnt reroll fast enough. Oh well, *poof*, back to zee mining.
See where Im going?
Oh, and since the idea actually is bad... Im going to disagree to old fashioned way. "I do not agree".

imo no based on the same reasons as previous posters. However if this in any case would be implemented at some time there should be a punishment for transferring SP's, eg 50% loss of points, transferring 1,000,000 points from Industry to like Gunnery would only yield 500,000 to Gunnery. That way you are not able to switch to this months flavor every time.
Either way I vote no

I wish I could take all of the useless classes I took in community college and convert them to engineering/science knowledge.. Everytime I realize I know how to paint a prespective painting, I cry.. I'll never use it :D
I love this logic, it's about as bad as true and true is false.

Im not against this idea, unless of course its something you can do anytime and everytime. That to me is stupid. A respec of some kind (once over whole gametime) wouldnt be too bad as it would mean people could change there characters and shore up all the skills they wish they never took. But being able to chop and change whenever is just stupid.
So I disagee. I wont sign it because you didnt clarify
If you clarifyed for a respec option that was a one time only affair id sign.

Actually - I agree.
But if you transfer SP you only keep 20% of them, the process will also destroy any implants you have in, and it will cost 200m isk at selected empire stations.
Maybe some people would still do it, if they're that desperate good luck to 'em

Respeccing in WoW is different, you have a strictly limited number of skills you can train. In Eve you can train as many skills as you like so there's no need to respec.
no skills, just luck.
