Yeah, I like the European system better even though I'm American.
It's April 7th, I believe. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

I understand it is printing as I type, and will be shipped on Friday. I for one can't wait to get issue 3. My man on the inside said it will be the best issue yet.

Actually, when I save files on my computers, I use the reverse of that, year-month-day. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

Zapatero or Kieron, Whats the odds of maybe getting a Fedex or UPS shipping option for EON for the US? It takes me like a month to get it through regular mail.
Thanks

Thanks
Cpt Drax - we have the FedEx option ready to go - it just needs programming into the order system by CCP. As soon is it is available we will announce it.
Can't understand why it takes a month to get to you, though. It ships by Priority Airmail, but we have all seen this can, sadly, still take time.

Be keen to know who 'your man on the inside' is! But yes, it is printing as I type. Binding, in fact, and we are on course to get issue #003 shipped out on Friday this week, 7th April, as per plan. And Zap and I are pretty pleased with this issue - we think you're going to love it.
As an aside, for all those who have placed an order, should you check the order tracking you will see it says 'shipped' today, 3rd April. That is merely so we can gather the order data and prepare the mailing. The magazine will ship this coming Friday, 7th April. If you pre-order now, it will still ship on Friday.

Edited by: Matthias DuBastyra on 04/04/2006 13:08:06 Ok, when I first heard about EON, I was skeptical. I admit it. I had my doubts. But, then again, I was on pins and needles during Castor (yup, i've been on since way back) so maybe it's the way I'm wired. I'm an Aries Latino with a bad moon rising, so I'm a glass-half-empty kinda guy. N E way, when I received my first issue. I was immediately drawn to the sleek glossy cover and I could hear the vacuum of the air around me as my eyes dialated. As I leafed through the pages of information, I thought to myself, "This...this is amazing!" I shared it with all my eve friends and we relished in its info. Curretnly, it is sitting on a mantle above a make shift altar dedicated to the EVE gods--Sorry Kieron, you're more of a demi-god [but a god nonetheless]. N E way, I was about ready to sign up for a year subscription when I thought about beginner's luck, about marketing schemes, about being a managing editor of a small press myself and seeing things like this emerege from other presses only to fall flat on its face because of high overhead. So I waited. I wanted to see if lightning would strike twice. I sat patiently (well, that's not true, if you recognize me from my other posts.)
Finally, the day arrived and as I ripped the cellophane wrapper from the magazine, I was elated to find the EVE boys have done it again! So here I am, but not to comment on shipping, or complain about wait time (that will come later ) Instead, I'm here to say that I've done it! I sold my soul for a year's subscription! Wohoo! ...And the truth will set you free! So, until Chuck Norris comes out of the closet, make mine EVE for a lifetime!

If it takes all of that before you pay 60 bucks for a subscription, i cant imagine you buying something like a new car, or a TV for that matter __________________________________________________

As far as I know, any and all mail from outside the USA gets handled as third-class mail inside the US. Only way to speed things up is by courrier service (Fedex/UPS)
I'm pretty sure this was the case some years ago, not entirely sure if it still holds true.

I also have to agree that the US shipping seems really slow. Last issue it took almost 4 weeks to get the issue :-( I was one of the first to order this time, hoping that will help though I know it wont ...
I wonder, would it be quicker for the US people if a mass shipment was made to a central location then distributed? I mean for example 1 big Fedex shipment of say 300 (whatever the US Pre-order/Subscription number is) to a location in the US. (All in prepaid US shipping packaged, and this is then shipped individually from there to the people?

This is something that I investigated for issue 2 (didn't have enough time before shipping) and was overlooked for issue 3. You see, I'm supposed to be the central distribution point for the US subs and recovery from the accident has put some things behind.
I'll try to get something going for shipping issue 4 to the US subscribers.

I just noticed in the EVE Online store E-ON section, that there is an image that shows all the current issues of the magazine...

As far as I was aware, there should only be three issues. What is the fourth magazine at the bottom?
Also, is there anyone that would be interested in selling their copy of issue #1? ____

Is this thing really gonna be worth $15? (Which comes to around ú10, no? Quite pricey for a magazine).

The first two certainly were. Remember there's content in EON that you won't fine anywhere else. Zap and his team do a great job with EON, it's really quality work, and one of the best things about it is PLAYERS produce much of the content.
Remember too, it's $15 every 3 months, it's 4 issues a year. That's only $5/month, which is pretty cheap for a magazine. -- Lil Miner |

4th issue "image" is just a placeholder. When E-ON #1 shipped there were 4 "magazine covers" too, 3 of them being placeholders.

I'm really looking forward to this issue, I already have bets open on when it will arrive.. since so many postal workers seem to mistake "AUSTRIA" with "AUSTRALIA" my first issue was in transit for.. well I can't calculate it now.. but it arrived 3 weeks ago
Since it was already a replacement I didn't inquire for a re-replacement, since the errors of our postal service shouldn't harm ccp.. you can guess how surprised I was when I got it at last
The second issue arrived within 2 weeks tho, some weeks prior to the first
So, I am REALLY looking forward to this one !

I agree but it's easy to see how the American system came about. How do you say the date? Most people say, "Today is April 9th, 2006" (04/09/06) as opposed to "Today is the 9th of April, 2006" (09/04/06).

Please don't take this as a delay. In order to prepare the mailing we 'shipped' the 'data' on 3rd and 4th April. The magazine was mailed on schedule on publication day - 7th April - to everyone with a sub and a pre-order.
It's out there and on its way...
