Edited by: Lliad on 12/09/2003 20:14:49 This is complete crap. The security system works perfectly as is. I personly like the chalange of 0.0 space. Not knowing if the person next to me might try and attack. With this sec status hit u are going to be able to see exactly who all the players who like to engage in a bit of PvP. This is greatly going to reduce the dynamice of the game. They may as well call all of 0.0 space 0.1 space as there will be no difference. With this all of space is now essetialy empire space.
I for one will be canceling my sub if this is introduced. In my opinion the ppl that are campaning for this are the ppl who do not have skills to survive in 0.0 space. Its a MMORPG, not eveyone can be the best. So stop moaning and stay within ur limits
Also getting podded is far less of 'crime' than getting ur ship destroyed.

Edited by: Lliad on 13/09/2003 03:55:03 As far as i can see, the ppl that want this change shouldnt even be in 0.0 space. ( ie 300k is expensive ppl) and the ppl that dont want the change are the ppl that stay in 0.0 space.
So shouldnt cpp listen to the players who play out in 0.0 and do what they want on this matter. Instead of listening to the societys of afk players.
Podding means nothing. I would self destrust my pod if i was ever in the situation, saves me a long trip home. This is a MMOG not everyone can be the best. This game is already to easy as it is. All u have to do is look on the forums and read about ppl strugling to kill 20k rats in a MOA. If u arnt good at the game live with it or go get another game.

Edited by: Lliad on 13/09/2003 04:41:12 [Well Cball. you really dont have much of a clue. 0.0 SPACE IS NOT FOR NOOBS. so i dont see how if i decide to pod someone it will make them cancel their sub. They are more likely to cancel coz i just killed 100mil worth of stuff. If u cant aford to lose it, dont fly it.
secondly eve is what u make it. If i want to PVP all week i will do it. WHY? coz that is the glory fo a MMOG. I can do what i want. I stayed in empire space when i was a noob. ive mined, traded, built things farmed npcs. But now i have my wealth and i want to use it.

Edited by: Lliad on 13/09/2003 05:23:41 How does this make the game balanced in your eyes. i can blow up 100m isk worth of stuff and come into empire space. Make my ship do a little dance around some police and they dont care. But if i feel so bold as to blow up a pod im suddely a danger and should no longer be aloud in empire space. That is crap.
This introduction will greatly reduce the pvp dynamics of the game. The only purpose of this is to put a big sign on ppl that says "i pod ppl." it enhances the agme in no way at all. Not for anyone. it only detracts from it.

Edited by: Lliad on 13/09/2003 05:37:28 You never answered how blowing up 100 mil worth of stuff gets you no punishment but killin a pod( which in most cases helps the person get home that little quiker) means a sec hit. That balance? hum I think not Mr I cant have a constructive argument without resorting to flames.
Either make it that u take a sec hit for destrying a ship. . This at least makes some sence instead of the pod. Or else drop this stupid idea.

Again no answer to my question, and another childish flame. Enlighten me on how this is balanced or just stop posting.

I do agree it will add a twist. But i fear it will destroy more than it adds. I thing i like in 0.0 space is that i dont know who the enemy is. Is the person who had been traveling the same path for the last 3 jumps suddenly going to get sick of lookin at my ship and try and blow it up. If i decided to go hunt, am i going to be attacking an easy target, or is he going to have lots of experiance. This will be lost with the current patch as i will easily be able to see all of this by looking at their sec status.
And of course taking a sec hit for podding and not for destroying a ship is just stupid. Also the only realistic rp reason for this should be that concord want to keep threats out of their space. So should mearly be attacking a ship be enough for the sec hit.
Either go all the way or leave ot put. Going half way is pointless.

As for what u say about taking a life. In this age the value of life has greatly been reduced. Due to the fact u cant actually die. Only loose a body. Im sure lots of players value their lost ship way above their clone.
As for no reason to pod!!
I have a bad memory so need their corpses to remined me of my victory.

I have yet to see anyone make a reasonable claim on how pod-killing shouldnt be a hit to security status, it is all a whiney group wanting free roaming status so it will be easy for them to play the part of pirates, without risk...
I have yet to see anyone make ONE good reason to change they way that it works at present. Also we want to play the part of rats with no risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the profession with the most risk in eve. Anyone that engages in pvp can lose it all. If you actually read my posts you could see that i am complaning coz this will make the game EASIER and reduce the risk. I want risk. I want a game to chalange me.

Edited by: Lliad on 13/09/2003 06:35:46 Cball. I will explain this slowly for you. well not really but just try and read it slow so u take it all in.
This is a pointless addition. It takes away form many areas of a game. Getting a neg-status means nothing at all. ooh i cant get in empire space. let me see my alt. Or even hello Mr agent set my sec staus back to 0 will you.
All it does is detract form the PvP experiance. It dosent make any differenece to anyone that dosent take part in the PvP fun. It only annoys ppl that want to be a more suttle rat. Or rat hunters. It dosent make your empire space any safer.

Edited by: Lliad on 13/09/2003 07:04:49 TBH spies give u a great advantage. Thats why ppl use them. And once again there is always a way roung the spy problem. Having ur own spy pod alt. Or do it urself and paying an agent to take ur sec status away. All this is doing is making the game annoying.
I will say it again. IT IS POINTLESS AND ADDS NOTHING. IT ONLY TAKES THINGS AWAY.

I still cant understand why ppl care so much about their pod.
The ship + mods is worth so much more. A sec hit for podding someone is a joke.
What this is saying is that it is ok to blow up ppls ships. However its not ok to pod a 300k isk clone. That is wrong on so many levels.
All this means that anyone who pods players can no longer have a positive securuty status. I will still be able to roam empire space any time i like by paying an agent. I can still use an alt.
This implementation is only an annoyance. It takes away some of the fun to be had in 0.0 space and a few ways to play the game.
It adds nothing to the game. Only makes it annoying.

I agree, with this idiotic decision inplace i dought i will re-sub. It clearly shows that the ppl who make this game have absolutley no strategy, or plan for this game.
I dont think it will be long before you take a sec hit for mearly attacking a player in a 0.0 system. As far as i can see they want combat as hard as possible in this game.
So much for the PvP orientated game we were promised

Edited by: Lliad on 14/09/2003 22:03:30 Well taking a sec hit means nothing. Any smart PvP can just use their agent to take away any negative status. So all this does is stop us having a postive sec status.
So really this has no point at all. It only takes away a few ways to pay the game. And the ppl that pod in 0.0 space are far less of a danger to ppl canceling their sub compared to te ppl that pod in enpire space.
Go and fix something that is usefull. Instaed of making a stupid implamentation that was never asked for and could cause ppl not to re-sub. FFS a searchable forum would be nice. who about u sepend ur time on that.
And form ppl that think that corp wars were the only intended way for combat you are just Wrong. PPl have been pirating since back in beta. They would have stamped it out way back then if it wasent inteneded.

Edited by: Lliad on 15/09/2003 02:40:48 Well i have thought about this and there are only 2 possible things that could happen.
Either ppl wont pod ,you will just lost ship and mods, but dont fear u wont have to but a new clone. Coz they are so damn expensive and take months of hard work to get.
Or (Now this one i like) pirates will just take the sec hits, but since their taking them they may as well move right into a 0.4 system and do it. ooh the carebares will be happy with that. Any time they want to go back into a >0.4 system they will just go see their agent.
So the patch dosent help anyone. It might just prove to be the worst thing that happened for the carebares.

What difference does a sec hit for killin ppls ship make.
NONE. they can still go to an agent all the same.

Edited by: Lliad on 15/09/2003 03:24:51 IT DOSENT MATTER IF THIS WOULD OR WOULDN NOT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE. It is a GAME. And this addition makes the game annoying.
