Occasus Vim	Posted - 2006.03.29 23:52:00 - [1] Hello all, I have a small request to make of anyone who might be able to contribute. These forums are a great source of education about the game. However, the EVE community has developed a lot of its own language and abbreviations, and for anyone who isn't familiar with this vernacular, extracting information from some threads gets a little difficult. Some things are pretty intuitive and can be figured out from context (things like ganked and BC (Battle-Cruiser)) but others are a little tougher to figure out. I'd like to request that, if there already isn't a thread/alternative source where this information can be found, this thread be a place for an EVE abbreviation/acronym/slang listing. If something like this already exists, please, show me the way :) Thank you in advance.

R&D = Research and Development RMR = Red Moon Rising Devs = Developers BC = Battlecruiser Indy = Industrial ship? Inty = Interceptor? NOS/nosses = Nosferatu module CO = Covert Ops CPR = Capacitory Power Relay HAC = [I still don't know what this is, despite searching] SP = Skill Points Ganked = killed (I think) RP = Research Points OR Role-play Aggro = [I don't know what this is either] There's lots more, but that's what I got off the top of my head. Any help?

Kahn Moquil	Posted - 2006.03.30 11:24:00 - [15] HACs are called that because they were originally labeled Heavy Assault Cruiser. Only later got it changed to Heavy Assault Ship. Same for PDU, originally it were Power Diagnostic Units, now they are Power Diagnostic Systems.

Bentguru	Posted - 2006.04.07 02:13:00 - [17] insta's are bookmarks placed in space that when warped to from a specific location (usually the gate you just jumped into the system from) drop you out of warp right on top of another stargate. Mostly used for travel since it cuts down on the total time and makes it much more difficult for somebody to catch and bbq your ass. I don't have a sig :(

Drakus	Posted - 2006.04.07 08:04:00 - [27] PWNED/PWND Its not really an abreviation.. dunno what you call it. its from OWNED/OWND, but with script kiddies that wanna be l33t its pwnd (i think) basically it when you beat someone/thing so easily, titans pwn everything, meaning they can beat, kill, win over pretty much everything. ganked is a bit more then killed, its Overkill. Usually refers to pirates, ganking indies in a battleship, or something to that effect. This post does not relfect the opinions of the Ushra'Khan or any of its members.

I provided a rebuttle, indicating that the page does not just contain acronyms but slang terms and their definition. Therefore, if anyone has time, also feel free to add some definition to the terms. If all else fails, we can just link to Testy's list.
