yes we all know the apoc and dominix are the mining bs....
but i can fly only caldari so an idea for making easy cash in 0.0
4 x miner II / dcms
2 x arabalest siege launcher
4 x multispec
2 x hardener
1 x shieldbooster
1 x extender
2 x bcu II
2 x mining upgrade
5 x mining drone
5 x vespa II ( to takeout rats)
idea behind:
sitting in a belt and mine some crokite
the rats are comming so i kill them except for one with my drones and 2 x launcher and chain the spawn and keep mining.
sure a raven would be way better, but dont have one laying arround.
sounds sick? I know, but come give me ideas :)

1 Question. Why??
Apoc is best 0.0 Battleship miner hands down, and can sustain a armour tank or a shield tank if you want a wcs or two. Second is Dominix or Megathorn. Dont change reality please :)

Scorps are poor at NPCing, due to low firepower. They're poor at mining due to having 4 turret slots.
Now, assuming you don't want to train another race, or barges for your mining, (barges aren't so hot, for 0.0 I'd agree) then look towards Ferox or Osprey. Ferox has 5 turret hardpoints, and a superb tank. Osprey has 5.4 (well, 3, but a 20% per level of cruiser yield bonus) but a less stunning tank.

As James Lyrus said, an Osprey or Ferox would mine more than a Scorpion, and a Ferox could tank the spawns ...
It depends on your attributes, but skilling frigate to 4, cruiser to 4 and battleship to 2 in Amarr or Gallente will only take 7 to 12 days ... I did it with my hauler alt, and she's mining in a Megathron now ...

1x Shield Booster II (boosters rock)
1x Invunrabillity Field II (urber resists)
1x Cap Recharger II (so your cap never runs out)
1x MultiSpec Jammer (so nothing can lock you)
1x 100mn MWD II (so your super fast)
1x Shield Extender II (extend that shield, yea baby!)
1x Warp Scramber (so you can PVP and Mine)
1x Webber (wooot kill any frig)
1x Armour Repair II (gotta keep that armour up)
1x Balistic Control (make your missiles OWN)
1x Mining Enhancement (so you mine stupid amounts)
1x Warp Core Stab (so you can always warp out)
1x Nano Fibre (so you turn super fast, and moan like a nude model on a web blanket)
1x Cargo Extender (so your cargo hold is HUGE!)
+ drones to kill off anything that lasts longer than ten seconds.

Get another ship, raven is fun too, and allows easy cash - if there is something like that at all. Scorpions are NO mining ships. Scorpion are EW/PvP ships.
Additional comment to your idea:
- 4 mining lasers are not worth being carried into 0.0
- You can have either mining drones OR combat drones in space -> you will have to return miners to drone bay before you can launch combat ones.

as I said, its sick :)
and yes i'm specialiced in ew, but it was a try to help my gang members mining a litte during tanking killg the spans :)
and a barge, thats a big no :) I can fly it, but to fragile
where I'm mining?
....next to 5 cloaked manticores waiting for you when you are trying to *****my scorp :)
and my problem with domi is not trainning the skills to get into the ship, but amor and shield tanking are just 2 damn different things and have no skills in amor tanking so far :)

Read my guide to realise Dominix is the most appropriate ship for mining. If you're obsseded on using your scorpion, no comment, but that your setup is acceptable.

Thats just wrong, the mids and lows are good, but never use more then 1 type of weapon, mixed weapon makes you pwn at all ranges and targets. So:

1x 250mm Railgun II

Now add in a cloaking device so you can mine and pvp while remaining hidden. Those roids won't know what hit them and nor will your enemies! Also don't forget that stabs make you awesome at everything! Everyone complains that they must be nerfed so that means they're really really good! You should strife to fit as many of these god mods on your ship and not only in your low slots but also in your meds, highs, cargo AND drone bay! Ideally you'll want to get a 2nd account and have him follow you in a hauler filled with stabs just in case you don't have enough stabs. STABS!

ffs a scorpion for minign thats like having a dread for mining mate it should never be done! if ur looking for a good caldari mining vessle get a osprey or train up for barge scorps are pure pvp caldari battleships (until teir 3 come out) should never be used for mining unless as lest resort
