I've crashed several times yesterday and already once today. It just seems to be random when and where it happens, not to mention when traveling long distances some jumps just won't happen.
...what did they do during the extended DT.

is it possible to die while the server is crashed?
cos is the server is down i would assume that the npcs aren't working as well? is it just that we can't connect?

Actually if the server died then all dynamic information will revert to the last server save....depending on how often the server save is...you might not need to worry about the ship blowing up =)

Actually if the server died then all dynamic information will revert to the last server save....depending on how often the server save is...you might not need to worry about the ship blowing up =)

That's probebly the Halon System initiation button - good thing its near the door as Halon eats oxygen (and hence puts out fires, but will also suffocate you if you stay in room).

finally got logged in but now getting a lot of messages about gates and docking ramps being closed because of congestion?
systems with just numbers and letters for their names, hard to believe they are full :/
edit: or maybe they're empty and being shut down to release server cpu to run rest of universe?

It happens everytime the server is booted up. Basically it is a temporary player limit imposed so that the mass rush as 17,000+ people try to log back in at once doesn't overload and crash the server again.

What was worse i was in dead space in a mission when twice it booted me out third time as i was entering the station at 1430 eve time and Iv not been able to log back in.
Can i say CCP if you dont want another petition my ship had better be intact or your gonna have to replace a vigilant and all its T2 mods

It started with me lastnight. Everytime i try and log in it reboots my computer???? WTF??? As far as ive made it was char selection screen then boom my computer shuts down

You have to realise, CCP doesn't care about it's players it seems, at least not enough to show us the respect of giving us any answers at all. I was fine until the down time this morning, now every time I try to play the game it freezes up my entire system after a few seconds. Can't even move the mouse, I have to unplug to reboot!
CCP=Continually Crashing Programs...
...customer service is irrelevant, as long as they get the million plus dollars coming in each month from subscription fees they don't care. Listen CCP, if a patch or update is screwing over even a minority of players due to bugs in the program, GO BACK. Undo it damnit! Don't treat us like crap, come on, we're the ones who put a roof over your heads and food in yours and your families' stomachs. Do we, as your customers and fans/players really matter so little to you that you won't acknowledge us or even give a response? Even a "We're aware of the problem and working on it, that's all we can say at the moment" would be better than ignoring us.
Ah well...I know I'm only one voice (who's paying for two accounts right now) but you folks would have SO many more players and many more subscribers if you stopped treating us like crap.

I agree with you, try any other games and you'll soon be glad you are playing EvE.
Also remember that CCP is a small company compared to most other MMO companies, and only recently has had a player base +18,000 now we have over 20,000 and even though it would be nice to hear from CCP remember that they have to deal with a hell of alot, with much less than other companies, and until you own your own company and know what its like there, then theres no grounds to complain as you are.

Well since I can't PLAY either of my accounts, and this is time I'm paying for, CCP should credit my accounts for the lost days.
Also, why would I try WoW? I know they're crap...plus I don't need a dumbed down childish game like that, I've got more than two brain cells.
Eve would be great if the technical bugs would be worked out. Unfortunately, their programmers are basically forcing a continual beta test on us. :-(

The hamsters that ran around in their wheel to generate the power for the previous servers got too old and couldn't hang on any more. CCP had to upgrade the servers and as a result, the power supply had to be upgraded. Now it's rats that run around in a wheel.
Come on, these rats have to run around that wheel for 23 hours a day with only a one hour break each day and sometimes thay just get tired out.
