Just now an interesting idea crossed my mind in the bounty system direction. What if kill rights were tradeable and were actually something that could be completed sort of like a mission? The player that gets the kill right attaches some amount of money to it and then that money is put in escrow. As a player you could get the kill right from another players and exercise it and collect the reward attached to it.
Just an interesting random idea. -- Rells

That would be an awesome expansion of the market system and the bounty hunting system
...and yes, we do sell and deliver ammo. 425 Express Delivery is available upon request, please see Hans Gates and Marcus Grisbius regarding this option. |

Agreed, that would really bring in a bounty hunter profession for sure. Though you should be able to restrict any corp members or alliance members from the targets corp/alliance from accepting the mission.

If it was well implemented (A sure way of the BH getting the money for the kill and even a list that shows successful jobs by that BH) then it would be a real addition to the eve world.
I must say Rells some of your posts have sometime caused me to think of you as a total tard but this is a bloody winner.

Edited by: Turas Kain on 31/03/2006 20:44:32 Edited by: Turas Kain on 31/03/2006 20:43:55 It's been suggested before and could work out with lots of fun if well implemented.
Course if its badly implemented it'd just be a farse. If someone who has killrights on you showed up differently on overview first it'd be handy - nigh on impossible navigating busy empire systems otherwise.
Edit: I buggered it up.

great idea, do you think they will plan kill rights for 0.0?

Yes, kill rights bought on the market for a HIGH price per day, so it would have to depend. Prehaps buying them at a Concord or DED station like how you sell deadspace overseers.

Yes, as people have said above, would be a real market for bounty hunting then.

I would become a bounty hunter for this reason. Though Would it be better to keep experation dates on them or let them last? I personaly think keeping an experation date on them would make the thrill of the kill true.

for us outlaws it wont really matter, ppl can shoot us anyhow. But for the ones that like killing in lowsec , but look after theyr sec status so they can travel in highsec this will change the game.
I like this idea

Fun idea. You'd need to think though about how to avoid the situation where pirates buy up these killrights to be able to gank more people in empire.

I don't get it. Maybe i'm wrong (probably..) but here is my understanding of how the Kill Right system works:
You only get killrights on someone if you've been killed in empire space, non-consentually.
Since the majority of non-con kills in empire are made by pirates, many of them with outlaw status.. Who cares if you have them on your little kill rights list or not? Shoot, ask questions later (?)

shouldnt really be considered too much,if someonehas killrights against them its because they ave unlawfully killed another player and should be prepared to be killed in return.

i would also like it, with a new thing - that pirates also with a low sec status can go into high sec systems withoutgetting shot by npcs nomore.
-5 u can be shot from every1 anywhere, like it was before and then ppl with killrights can kill u too.
would make pirating more dangerous, but also less uncomfortable att he same time.

Interesting idea.
problems: - want someone dead? make an alt, get em killed by that person, give yourself a free kill right, gank them - want money? get a noobship, get ganked a lot, sell the killrights, get rich in a stupid way - killright would only have commercial value equal to the bounty on the said person right is on (unless it has personal value)
so no I should think not. Bounty hunting does not work because bounties do not work, simple.

I love that idea, and a way you could prevent rats from killing eachother like that would be to make the killrights only accessible to those with 0.0 sec rating or better, or something like that, and have each contracted kill raise your sec status a lil bit ^_^

Uh, not really. You wouldn't be selling your kill rights, you would be paying someone else to exercise them on your behalf.
Being a bounty hunter should open up some special abilities. One such thing would be to have 'bounty hunting' agents where you could take a look at available contracts, and once you select one you would be able to remotely run a search on the individial, as opposed to having to travel to your agent, like you do with regular search agents.
Silly mods, sigs are for wabbits. |
