I've actually noticed this as well a few nights ago. I just figured that it was a glitch or something since I swear it used to be gold in station.
Just went "hugh.. thats weird" then loaded a ship. (after undocking in the pod to see if it was gold in space.. wich it was)
Its not like it really matters. The only time you should be starring at your pod is when your running away after loosing a ship. Since it is a vanity thing, its always gold where other people can see it so it's not like Im worried about seeing it in station for myself.
With that said though, whatever is causing this to happen should still be fixed. Im sure it wont take a lot of man hours. Probably a cache problem or a line of code is wonky somewhere.
Although I'm not sure if there are enough people out there with gold pods to catch CCP's attention about it.
