Gratz on the build and the sale. So hard to be first at something in EVE. Impressive

Congrats to u guys ... a first.
Your next task .... build yourself a 'Intra-stellar Shuttle Launcher' array at a POS. Build a couple of million shuttles, and hurl them unmanned at the incoming bad guys. You know how much damage a shuttle can do as it hits a mothership at 1AU/sec?
If u manage to build it, we'll take 3

That cant be true because the skill to mount the clone bay isnt out yet (or wasnt 2 days ago when I checked at least)

The mothership was collected as soon as it was finished, and out of EC like an hour later.. still I think the besiegers got quite of plunder from some of the pos's. So glad I hadn't got round to moving my assets to EC

Because they could. BoB has never and will never need an excuse to attack anyone and people pretending otherwise are just painting a nice target on themselves

There may be several reasons for this attack:
- They could have learned that TRUST was building a mothership for G, and tried to steal it.
- They could (in fact, that's nearly certain) have wanted a large player-gathering event where they could show off their Dreads and logistic capacity, to flatter their ego.
- Stealing an Outpost and a load of large POS with their modules is one hell of a lot cheaper than building one in the first place, and EC is a nice strategic location for anyone wanting lots of kills with a Shoot-Them-All policy.

Edited by: Mark Bunyan on 09/04/2006 10:11:51 Edited by: Mark Bunyan on 09/04/2006 10:11:38 My guess is that it's yet another case of territorial Alliances trying to control the availability of technology.
And with "control the availability" I mean "Hog it". If they can't take/buy/control the BPOs, they'll try to limit the means of manufacturing the products of those BPOs.

As they've said, both BoB and ASCN have their own capital production facilities. Yes, they could have bought from TRUST, but they had no need to - and as such, TRUST capital production was only ever going to benefit their enemies. It also let them properly deploy their capital fleet, which must've been nice, but which has probably put a stopper on them getting another chance in the near future.
