Simple skill, each level trained lets us set one additional skill to train at a time, with maybe a terribly small bonus to total training time. Example:
I set Caldari Frigate to 4 and Starship Command to 4 at the same time. Normally, they would take 2 days and 1 day (example). With multitasked training, then Starship Command would finish in 47.5 hours and Caldari Frigate would resume with 23.5 hours to go. Net time savings: 1 hour over three days.
It would also be a nice way to designate skill trains for long vacations, but the bonus would have to stay pretty small unless we wanted it to be a FOTM skill.

1. Look at the drawing board/in developemt section, the idea is already there.
2. Multitasking is a skill already.

And multitasking is quite worthless as the vast majority of the ships cannot target more than 7 targets -----------------------------

Multitasking to lvl 3 only. The logistics ship can target up to 10 targets which is max, I believe. ----------------------------------------------- My Band's new Demo: Linkage to Torrent |

I'll have my lawyer contact yours within a week, or you can just transfer 100 million isk to my wallet within 24 hours
In regards to the actual question; I personally think dual-training should be penalized, however a skill in the learning-category that reduces the penalty to dual-training would be nice IMO. ______________________

I'd be in favor of this skill if it had a few bits added to it. -Learning V as a prerequisite -Skill training at the same time take 1.5 times longer than normal -.05 bonus to the training time per level, so at five it would only be 1.25

Wouldn't this encourage people to cancel their accounts for good chunks of time so they could train up like 6 skills to level V at the same time over the course of 3-4 months?

The idea on the drawing board avoids that issue (which I agree is a problem). I believe the point of CCP's two-skill plan is to allow one short skill and one long skill at the same time.
I.e. you could set a 4 hour skill and a 4 day skill to go while you're at work. The 4 hour would finish after 8 hours, and the 4 day skill would continue alone after that, so you wouldn't miss any training time.

How would that help? You'd be losing out 4 hours... instead with some smart skill planning you could train up all your skills that take more than a day during the week and save the less than a day long skills for the weekend or whenever you have more time to log on eve. Unless there's more to the two-skill plan... i haven't seen the drawing board yet (where is it?). ____________________________________________ Don't worry aboutit |

You wouldn't lose out on any time. Both skills would train at half speed until the short one was finished, then the long skill would train at full speed. What do you mean "lose out on 4 hours"?

The way you wrote it in the first post I thought it would first train the 4hour skill at 50% speed and then proceed to the 4day skill. Not training them at the same time, instead just a skill que type deal. ____________________________________________ Don't worry aboutit |

It's good if you fly a rook :).
That's about it though. Scorps at least could use more targets. (8 jammers, 1 primary, 1 secondary ;p) -- We are recruiting
