More dreadnaughts = more support. Or you wind up like RA losing what, 11 of those babies... because they were left pretty much unguarded while busting pos shields.
Does it make possible fight much harder to accomplish. Yes, there's no denying that. But the alternative is trimming down your forces to the point where time needed to carry out what you intend to do ... gets greatly exceeded. So you are basically asking one side to waste their playtime in order to allow other side have fun. And tell me, honestly. When _ever_ in EVE _anyone_ went out of their way to make it more boring for themselves, so that enemy could have fun?
What needs to be done will be done. Then everyone can have regular and more reasonably sized fleet fights all day long. Why cry about it? ^^;
I wonder if your leaders have lost their once wonderful sense of PR. I refer you back to the thread (sorry, can't link atm) where it was discussed how F-E will now always be perceived as traitors to their friends because they sided with [5]. Even Persh agreed there. Because they will; you can run 24/7 forum propaganda, but you can't erase people memory. And now, with all the beautiful military and logistics stuff achieved by BoB in the past, you have created a laughable precedent which will remain in collective EvE memory - that BoB is an alliance that had to bring hundreds of suck-up supporters from a napped alliance to lag the system down to prevent the mere possibility of engagement by hostile forces. Whatever the justifications that have been brought out for the bringing of those, and will no doubt be reiterated under a hundred angles, the fact will remain. These types of tracks are not made in the sand. I have no problems with what you are doing, or how; I just find you have gone and marred your alliance so carefully cultivated image among the people who were NOT the fanboys. The rot is setting in; watch it spread, especialy with the yeast of ex-ATUK smack specialists.
And do yourself a favour, don't post excuses that are so obviously not true. Like the need to guard 20+ cap ships with 600-800 support, or such numbers having anything to do with speeding up POS bashing. That's, well, not very realistic :)
Don't cry about smack when your corp members use alt forum smacktards to spray out pure BS.
Hey,
Another fan boi for me huh?Awesome! As I said, I posted on the forums with an alt and will do it again. If I feel the need to I will along with everyone else in EVE.Well, because I can.
D.A.B. like anyone else has individuals with opinions and personal feelings. They are aloud to post freely with or without a main.So instead of being my fan boy, if you want to add to the thread bring something to it.Your wanna-be job of trolling is childish and old.Try bringing facts or even your opinion to therem's post. Not the classic OMGQUOTEONESENTENCEPOST.Either that or stfu.
Btw I have 6 accounts which do I have to post with to consider it my "main"???..just to clarify. No nevermind I don't give a **** who I post with.

A couple things :
1. To the OP, why we do this is our business, what and when we tell people is our business and decision, and as such you won't get a proper answer until and if we feel like giving one.
2. EC-P looks pretty. As much of EVE does.
3. To all the LAG people, most of you obviously haven't actually been in the system. For a 0 sec place with 400+ people in it the lag is fairly minor, I think people had roughly 1 second or so lag when switching on equipment. Fights obviously get abit laggier, but everyone of those 400 people obviously isn't at a battle all the time.
4. There are some hostiles in the system too, and those dudes get respect, for they actually try to fight, unlike those fleets that from time to time seem to try to grow a pair and slowly crawl up to a gate leading to EC-P before they get too scared and run away...
5. As for the future, I think people will notice what and when we do something, until that time you can like guess or imagine what it could be. ________________________________

Like you guys would jump into a fight where you knew you would lose 30-50% of your fleet before they even load their screen and be outnumbered like 5:1 for the rest.

Even without the connection to G alliance TRUST were providing t2 equipment for someone and it was not for us. Given a good opportunity why would we not clear out ec-? We never claimed we are the good guys. Successfully pulling off an operation of this size is a challenge in itself.
Someone calling us a griefers and seeing all people whining are a bonus and reinforces that we need to do this again. All industrial corps with a large amount of POS should transfer BNC 5 billion isk or we will be at your doorstep in the future.

Keep patting yourself on you back.
Yes you may have jumped in on slightly larger forces of disorganised alliances without decent leadership occasionally (read: NSA, FA, ...).. But that is a lot different than jumping into a complete suicide.

It is your problem you didn't order from them - they have much better customer service and delivery times than NAGA for example, because they're not as well known - although their prices on some stuff can be a little bit higher.

I think you're giving yourself too much credit if you believe that your personal interpretation -- that is, what was done was to "lag out system" etc ... is one shared by "collective EVE" ^^
It is not a question of belief, but rather something that we all here are trying to affect, eh?
Originally by: j0sephine
At the end of day it's up to individual what they choose to remember. For all we know it as well might be complete unability of certain alliances to react to presented situation in any manner that'd actually have some kind of impact. Even though just few days ago they were happily rambling on this very forum about how the people who are now holding G/IRON's "gate to empire" by the throat ... were 'nothing more but small nuisance running around in frig gangs and doing nothing of consequence'.
It might well be. However, since the contrast between the image and the action is much more stark for your side, I do think that one thing has more chances to be remembered than another.

Of course it's not realistic, which explains why it's also grossly inaccurate ^^ which you can easily verify once you're actually in the system in question. And with the station that's been offering clone jump services for a _long_ time being placed in this very system... it's not really that difficult to get someone in there to actually check how things are, is it...
Thank you for your kind invitation Now you don't believe that I have to clone to EC- to find out personally simple things that I can do remotely? Like, how many bubbles and in what dazzling pattern are placed around the undocking area of that towering Gallentean building? Also, if I can remind you, the whole numbers game I was talking about is not about keeping that crowd in the area, but about the initial strike on Friday night. It is common knowledge that blob of that size can not be held for long and so it will (and had) dissipate, thus enabling actual engagements; looking forward for (more of) those soon.
I think that this discussion has run its course. Of course, we have different points of view, but only time will tell which had more merit. And, anyway, as always, intelligent answers 4tw, as opposed to flames, namecalling and fingerpointing - much appreciated.

I would hate to have you as a fleet commander if you just Banzai'd in without thinking about your troops and making a call. All the bubble lag at the gates make it pretty good odds any attacker jumping in would lose probably 50% of their battleships before they started firing. Fleet ops in those circumstances are dependant on chances of success, not just LEEEEEROOOOOOOYYYY! I have more respect for the FC Sunday for making that call than I would otherwise had if we'd been wiped out.
It seems to me that you equate balls with stupidity. Just a thought, but I'm guessing your balls are enormous.

Sorry woody but overall I'd say Luc is correct in his assessment. That's how you took the stations in Fade remember? Logon when we weren't around, logged off as soon as we came close, didn't move an inch when we took the station back and then logged back on again when we moved back up north and started pounding on the station again.
And people wonder why we left the north... tssk.

It's not worth trying to respond to most of the stuff in here, people are too stuck in their views for there to be any point, but I do feel the need to address one blatant innaccuracy that's been flying around.
I've been in EC- a lot the last couple days and I can tell you for sure we never had 800-1000 pilots. The peak I saw on the first day, when everyone was there for the big kickoff, was 619 in local, and it hasn't been as high since. 619 is the number that's going around on our forums and to be honest I don't think we're on the side you'd expect to be lowballing the number.
If you bothered to check (and G/IRON/TRUST already know this because they've had people, even small fleets doing strafing runs here and there, in system) you'd know it has gotten much lower than that and even with huge amounts of people the lag while fighting hasn't been bad at all.
So enough of this 800 to 1000 pilots in local 24 hours a day, there have not once been that many at any time during the op, and 600 was only hit once very breifly on the first day.
What bearing this has on all the other points people are arguing I won't bother discussing, as everyone has their own viewpoint they're not likely to give up, but for the last time, there is no 800-1000 man fleet. ---------------------------------- "There's no +6 Sword of WTFPWN in Eve." - Er... You might hate them or you might like them, but they are pulling off the biggest player based op in Eve right now.
They just play the game how it was intended to be.

Au contraire, my friend. Come jump into EC-P and there will be many, many (many, many, many) people only too happy to shoot you.

I know that we logged off more than once, cause we didnt see a chance to engage, but we wanted so damn hard (the young nublars we were back that time) to fight. Rly Nifel, most of the time you had more guys especially BS. Remember the fight in L-C? I even frapsed it, we were outnumbered by far... --------------------------------

Well my conclusion is that maybe G/Iron/Razor need to pay attention to their main focus. Maybe instead of focusing on FE, efforts should be made on the "Brothers".
What a laugh it would be if the mighty BOB would have to call ASCN/5/FE and fan boys support to deal with a attack ... Tough choice wouldnt it be ???? Face a fight on equal numbers or swallow all your pride and ask for help

6x more people: job done 6x faster.
What's impressive waste of resources for one can be simple way to speed up boring process for another...
If 500 of those ships were dreadnought, indeed. I don't even think it's possible to have any kind of fight with 1000 people in a system, hell with 100 there's already issues. Even if your enemies could actually get 400 people together, there is no way they could do, then what ? jumping on a 500 ships camp ? Using these kind of numbers just make it impossible to jump and fight back, no matter how many people they can get.
I'm just saying you want to win a war without firing a shot. Which is fine I guess, but disapointing.
As i said on other thread. This operation was NOT to fight flts, NOT to get into proper combat.
The operation is the destuction of Shipyards. The numbers are to close the system down for enough days as it takes for the dreads to operate easy and kill lots of POS.
Flt battles will come when we want flt battles, but this op. was not for flt battles.
no go back and sit in jita where its safe carebear and let us military corps do the tactics as u know nothing obout them it seems...
