Edited by: Prof Higgins on 03/04/2006 11:36:20 Production Efficiency - 4 % less wated minerals per level trained Mass Production - Allows the operation of multiple factories. Ability to run 1 additional manufacturing job per level. (6 factories at lvl 5) Industry - Allows basic operation of factories. 4% reduction in manufacturing time per skill level.

For T1 ships For personal use ... just Industry - faster build time .. but it's not that long anyway so no big deal
For producing to sell Production Efficiency - Means less minerals wasted - If you plan to go into ship production rather than just personal use then very important
Other things that help Mass Production - can use more factory slots
T2 production is a whole different world .. a lot more skills needed there
edit: and for being pawned by the Prof ... no cookie for me

I was just offered a Navy Megathron blueprint for 500 million, but haven't the foggiest notion on what skills I would need or how to actually build this.
1)Is it going to take tons of exotic materials I can't mine? 2)Lots of skills that would take a month or more to train?
Any help would be appreciated. I have a week to respond.
Thanks, Sev

You should be able to see the blueprint and do info on it in the offer ... if you look at the materials tab it tells you basically what you need (there is some wastage on top of the blueprint mineral amounts). I think these just need minerals (i.e. no T2 goods) but someone who has actually built one may know better.
If you are interested and don't know anyone to build it for you eve-mail me and i'm sure a deal can be made as i have an industrial alt that would love to build one of those babies. Hey, this is my reality ... and I don't remember inviting you |

OK, I checked the bill of lading and have all the materials. Under skills, there doesn't seem to be any requirements.
So how would I go about building this thing. Under attributes, it lists research material time, research copy time, and research productivity time. Do I need to do any of these if I'm only going to build the one ship?
Do I need to rent a hangar somewhere? I've scoured the forums but haven't stumbled on any building guides.
Once again, any help is greatly appreciated. Sev

should be good to go
When the time is up open Science and Industry - go to jobs tab - get jobs ... selct the mega and click deliver
Should have 1 navy megathron
edit: Since it is a BPC there is no research to do. Research is for BPO's edit: btw I am in game now if you want to convo. I can talk you through it if you have problems

Or you can just right click on the Blueprint, select manufacture, at the window that pops up the station you are inside atm, set 1 run, hit ok and accept. _____________________________

Skills needed, just industry I think. Skills needed to do a reasonable job: Production Efficiency 5. (Absolute must if you're doing it as a business, 5% waste is your profit margin gone) Industry (faster build times) Mass production (more items queued) Advanced mass production (even more items queued) Supply chain management (remote queueing of factory items)
It's probably also worth looking at science skills, for researching blueprints: Science (faster blueprint copying) Research (faster blueprint productivity level research) Metallurgy (faster material efficiency research) Lab operation (more research jobs) Scientific Networking (remote research management)
Trade skills are also a benefit if you want to make a business of it. -- We are recruiting
