Edited by: Blacklight on 04/04/2006 01:20:20 Actually, it depends how badly you want it and how much money you want to spend.
If we were locked out of NOL like this then we would keep jumping in knowing that between 20-40% of our fleet would make it out until we had a fleet in NOL. I could live with 50-100 BS losses if we got a force inside that could fight effectively.
Then we would have at the occupying force until they died.
This is not always an issue of game mechanics, it is a matter of will and drive.
Things are only out of your control when you allow them to get out of control and control is still possible even in the most adverse of circumstances.

Originally by: Baun I guess we will see if G/IRON do that when you roll into XZH or wherever. I am sure you never lost sight of it, but people do need to remember that this was NOT their system.
Yup that is a good point.
No doubt we'll test it at some point, past history tells us that they won't come test us.

I can certainly see your point. However, when do you sit and look at a situation, and deciede its pointless?
I don't know how many numbers exactly BOB can field, but lets assume its a 100, as thats close to G's max. Assuming you managed to get into the system in question, your still out numbered heavily. And regardless you still don't have a force that can fight effectivly, the 500 people in local ensure the lag monster for the most part has tottal control over the situation at hand.
I'll respectafully dissagree with you on this one. There is no controling a situation like this where the severs inability to handle this many pilots renders tactical manouvers a matter of luck. The controll in large gangs like this, is in the hands of the party that lags the least. Dedicated out not, once you've got in, you're still out numbered, and down 50-100 BS's.
Nah believe me mate if the roles were reversed and I had 100 pilots in here we'd have caused mayhem.
Localised engagements, if kept brief, would have no more than 200-300 pilots and the server would have stood it. You'd have to be wily as a fox and on your game but you could cause a lot of problems.
Edit: sounded too arrogant without a subscript, I should say that what I mean is that any competent PvP entity with those numbers in system (assuming they were determined enough to get people in here in the first place, despite the very high cost) would have caused mayhem.

Originally by: Kalissa The real danger for Eve here and for BoB & Co is that people stop wanting to even try to fight them anymore. I really don't think that this day is so far off in the distance that it can't be forseen.
People already won't fight us
