Id be opposed to that idea as well. I had to make those decisions when starting, why should the newer player automatically get a 25 day head start ?
If you think that way, and your character is really old, you should ve been opposed to the introduction to any new feature (be it new ships, implants, advanced learning skills) into EVE purely on the reason that "it wasn t there when i started playing". EVE changes, it even says so in the EULA, and to be honest, 95% of the changes were for the better. I just think a changing of the prereqs is a less dramatic step than giving out free skillpoints. It has happened already for the tractor beam and noone who learned graviton physics purely for this one complained.
Sorry but there where people complaining about that change, I saw cople of threads on it, some of that where poelpe that went and bought up as many gravton physics skill books they could for re-sell.
Whats next on the wish list? the preqs for cap ships that are lvl 5 to be dropped to 4? Assault frigs? HACs? Recon?
Its a slippery slope I don't want em to start on.
Adding new stuff to play with is not even close to what is being disscussed...

The concept is simple really. You dont punnish customers for brand loyalty; especially when it isnt even needed.
This char is 6 months old or so. I did make the decision to do my learnings first. It was one of thousands of decisions Im having to make daily in eve.

What posesses people to "leave" a game in such a manner?

But these are decisions we all have to make. When I rejoined the game and created this char, I got all my learnings to Advanced 4 right off but I wasnt playing the game then, just changing skills. I had a new baby and not much time to play so it was perfect timing.
I think what rell is saying here is that if you want to make the learning skills less painful. Have a new baby!
(Congrats on the new baby by the way).

Ill say again, 3 months old char here and i can see NO GOOD REASON to alter anything.
the game works fine in the respect of skills and training, lets just get on with the important issues that really CAN screw the game like the Macros.

Well Today was a good day. The students of PvP basic got 12 kills including one Scorpion and a Tech 2 rax with tech 2 drones.

i just finnished the pvp basic class with rells, and i must say that noobs have no disadvantage, i have a litlle over 5m sp however me with 23 other noobs in frigates(YES FRIGATES!) killed a scorpian in less then 35 seconds. the pounding that scorp went threw was insane. we also killed 10 other ppl, inluding a thorax equiped wiht t2 items and t2 drones. after all that i must say that i will encourage all of my corpmates and indeed any nuby to take that pvp basic offered only by the one and only agony unleashed.
ARMRORINE out.
