Hi all. It's that time of month again. I'm at the point where I'm considering switching over from the now too easy level 2 missions in my Stabber/Rupture to level 3 missions in a Cyclone.
Any comments on the cheap and cheerful setup below?
High 5 x 220 Autocannons 2 x Heavy launchers 1 x NOS
Med Large shield booster Large shield extender Stasis Webifier 10 MN Afterburner Invulnerability Field or Race/Mission specific hardener
Low 2 x Power Diagnostics 2 x Gyrostabiliser

drop the web and shield extender for hardeners on the more hardcore missions.
On part 2 of the slave trader double-part-mission, get help from a battleship to tank.

I've flown a Cyclone for quite a few Lvl 3s, and fooled around with both autocannons and artillery. I found 650s to be the better choice. My standard mission fit looks like this:
5x 650mm arty 2x Heavy launchers 1x Assault launcher
10mn AB Large booster Boost Amp 2x rat-specific hardeners
Small armor repper PDS 2x gyro
The important components are the artillery with 2x gyros and the shield tank. The rest can be changed to suit your preferences or the particular mission. The small repper is there on general principle - you'll have to warp out on occasion, and I don't like to go back into battle without armor at 100%. But that's just my preference - fit what suits you. Also, the launchers can be mixed and matched to suit the mission as well - sometimes 3 assaults are helpful. Engagement range is about 30km, depending on what ammo you use, and drones should generally be kept close for point defense.
Cheers!

Thanks for the replies :) I'm not that keen on sniping from 20+km away if I can get in close and still survive. Generally find it more entertaining (and frantic) at 2km range!

It did occur to me but, at 1 mil sps (just over), it was suggested I don't try ;)

some comments. i seldom use AC, not because they arent good, but because they use too much amno, so i usually prefer artilleries. another thing. cyclone has a nice boost bonus, so you will want to repair more than you get damaged, so better get rid of the extender a fit either a shield boost amplifier or another hardener.
my current setup for levels 3 and 4
High Slots
5 x 720 Artilleries 3 x Heayv Launchers (level 4 missions) 2 x Assault Launchers + 1 tractor beam (level 3 missions)
Medium Slots
1 x Large Shield Booster 1 x Shield boos Amplifier (coupled with the cyclone bonus, it is very nice) / or 1 x 10mn AB for easier missions 1 x nammed web 2 x hardeners ( hard level 3) 1 x hardener + 1 named target painter ( easy level 3) 3 x hardeners and no web for harder level 4 missions
Low Slots
1 x nammed damage control 2 x gyros + 1 bcu (level 3 missions) 3 x pdu (level 4 missions)
3 x valkiries 2 x warriors
Of course, i can not do all level 4 missions, but i can do at least 7 or 8 of them, and because i have a level 3 and a level 4 agent on the same station, i can always have a nice mission to do.
Yesterday i did gone berserk level 4. on the last spawn, i got a domination saint (8.250.000 isks on bounty) and i had no problem doing all the mission with artilleries. when i had only the domination rat alive, i refitted to autocannons. well, in fact i refitted to thermal resistance, but i also changed autocannons just to kill it faster. i also switched the boost amplifier for a 10mn AB to close the distance to the rat faster. i was orbiting him at 2km hitting him with the 425mm, the heavies and the valkiries, and he could only hit me with torps, cause he was unable to track me with his large guns.
so for now, i havent got firepower issues with the cyclone for level 4 missions, only that some of them require much more tanking than i am able to get
