Keep farming - its a one of the few real alternatives to mining all the time.
I will not mine all the time in my Battleship.

Definately, not everyone likes to mine. And if you remove this to try and force people into other professions such as mining, I garantee there will be more canceled subscriptions no joke.

Why do you ppl want everything in EVE to be so easy? NPC farming was not intended by CCP, ppl can do it because of bugs in the code, so yeah they should fix their code..

Errr. Yeah, that rocks. LOTS of systems has got 2-4 belts, which means that you'll have to wait 10-15 minutes until you can go through them all again. Even worse if you're not alone in the system.
I suppose mining bistot with 1 cruiser as protection will get pretty easy though, just kill them and they won't come back until your op is finished?

Edited by: lickspittle on 15/09/2003 09:05:04 I was going to lock this, but I reconsidered. Please do not post empty "yes" posts. This forum is not the place for polls and if this thread is treated like one, I will lock it. I have nothing to do with this change by the way. -- Richard CCP Programmer. Yes...
Because there has to be some legal way of making money other than endless mining! Plus, chain spawning cruisers can be a handful (even more so after the patch) if you're not careful - if there were no chain spawns, it'd be just too easy. - Carp Riddell - CEO, Innsmouth Shipping - Proud Member of Curse Alliance

Yes keep them.
Disco is right though as well, until i got into my cruiser I belt hopped all the time, once you get in a cruiser its more time efficient to sit where you are and let them come to you.
And thats the point. Time efficiency. NPC pirate farming (unless you farm the 30K+ pirates) is not the best way to earn money because of travel times, ammo costs, in fact most of your money is earnt from recycling and selling the minerals.
So, if chain spawning gets stopped, then all the other occupations should also be made harder. ---------------- ~= Askari =~

Same as with bistot. When your roids pop, you gotta look for new ones, right?

Unless the NPC AI is changed so the NPC's go for the miners or use real tactics. Like sensor dampening NPC's or NPC's using hardeners.
HARRRR
On a side-note calling PC killers 'hunters' is ridiculous, btw, there's no hunting going on in just sitting in a belt chaining rats till you run out of ammo/cargo space. No challenge whatsoever.

Yes, I definitly agree with everything that has been said....other than to stop it :P If you take away farming from someone who is dependent on that "OCCUPATION" It would severly cripple the economy....ex..not as much money being made by hunters and not as much rare loot going out to those who purchase from us hunters, in return we have less money to work with to buy the stuff we need which means less cashflow to others as well. People dont understand that if you take away farming you will also be hurting everyone else that doesnt farm. Hey miners where do you think you get your fancy miners and sweet little cargo expanders...from me and people like me who put the work into farming to find these rare items so you could purchase them....I for one am voting yes

Edited by: corporal hicks on 15/09/2003 09:34:36 I think some people are failing to understand what farming is. When you think about it farming the npc rats is just like they are calling for backup from there mates. If Concord or the other nation forces can call in back-up why can't the rats???
O wait concord don't give ya bounties for destroying there ships!!! If CCP are getting rid of the farming rats in belts advantage then they should also get rid of the Concord call in reinforcements from other areas.
I think the farming should stay I also think CCP should start putting in npc rats in battleships as lets be honest here the 50k pirates are a joke if you are in a battleship.
My vote is YES to farming. " Stay Frosty "

Farming is a great source of income but i'd rather see challenging NPC opponents. Killing 200 NPC cruisers in a row without any shield penetration is no hunting. It's mass destruction.
I say, CCP give us nice NPC opponents which are a bit of a challenge even for a BS and repair the loot tables. Challenging opponents shouldn't drop only crap.

My vote is NO!
BUT: Please introduce stronger NPCs, perhaps in battleships, which have also bigger bounties. Also fix the loot-table for the NPCs above 10k.
AND: NPC¦s should be able to call in reinforcements, but not in the chain, like it is now.

Removing it without an alternative/changing the current NPC spawns/loots/strength/bounty: NO.
Removing with an alternative/changing...: YES!!
A specialized bounty hunter should be able to make as much money as a miner, ATM that's only possible with chainkilling. Hopping belts is a lot less effecient.
Best solution would be to up the strength of NPCs, so hunting in teams would be actually necessary - but their bounty and loot has to be increased as well. Otherwise npc bountys will become the next missions - ok for a while if you want to do something else than mining, but not profitable.
