i've downloaded the 14 day trail without a problem, and also been able to make an on-line acount. when i start up the game i can see that i need to scroll down but i cant see anything put purple. (i had a friend 'round at the time whole new what to do) so he told me what to click on to get me into the game. i can see the pictures, such as what your character can be out of the six options, ut still no text. once i got into the game and a woman's vioce starts talking to me the problem has not gone away. i cant play at this point for this reason and my account has already lost 2 days.......

Processor? Presumably a P4 but it's a bit poor for Eve at that speed.
224mb of ram
Sounds unlikely. Memory is usually a multiple of 128. In any case 224MB is nowhere near enough for Eve. It's not even enough for Windows really.

That's an 'S3' not 53. If so then that's your problem. That's an old card and Eve is very demanding of a graphics card. Not only in terms of speed but also the features supported by the card. Your S3 is lacking in both areas.
Eve is a heavywheight game and if I correctly interpreted what you wrote above then it's nowhere near enough to run Eve even if your graphics card was up to the job.
I'm sorry to say but it sounds like you are trying to run Eve on a two year old run of the mill computer and it ain't gonna work. A two year old top of line perhaps but even then it'd strain.

Right click 'My Computer' on the desktop. Select 'Properties'. Look at bottom right. -- (Battle hardened miner)

I disagree that the computer being old is the problem. Your system specs will cause the game to be pretty laggy but won't completely prevent you from playing. The problem has something to do with the S3 Savage cards. I've been having the same problem on one of my computers that has the same video card.
