Hi,
Lately I have read some books, like the Pax Amarria and some other stuff. Which brought me here today, I want to talk about a new subject: Equality of humans and biological equality.
I mean we all know, that the ethnic Gallente are most genetic diverse bloodline, and therefore are the most advance and adaptable of all bloodlines. This extreme genetic diversity allowed the ethnic Gallente to not be limited by a worldGÇÖs climate or ecology in colonization, permitting them to expand relatively rapidly compared to other races. A strong immune system and resistance to disease also helped this.[1] So it would be reasonable to assume, that over time the cluster would be ruled by the strongest, because the strong should see their wealth and power increase while the weak should see their wealth and power decrease. But why? Why do not we see this today? I tell you. Its because of those lies of our modern society. The Federation itself had become an enemy of the gallente people. Its welfare- and nanny-state had led to its current position. So what can we do? First: (1) We have to accept, that humans are not equal. (2) That we all subject of evolution and natural selection. (3) All public institutions which are working against the invisible hand of nature, working in truth againts the self-interest of the nation. (4) The Federation works with its the nanny state institution against the average working man, against the ethnic gallente people.
We have to free ourself from those lies of equality, and accept the truth that stands straight in fornt of us. We can not deny this truth. No longer. Ones we could afford the luxury of equality, those lies, but now this time has to end. So I hope you people will join my cause: Less state, more invisible hand of nature.
You can do it by: - Just post in your Galnet bio: "Less state, more invisible hand of nature." Or - Or donate some ISK on my account with the reference "Less state, more invisible hand of nature."
Here it should be said that I am not a racist. Im just a concerned citizen. The migration of those intercity-matari-free-raiders in our welfare- and health-systems has to end; no more handouts for lazy people. The same counts for those new immigrants, the stampede will destroy our health services, welfare benefits and education system. We have to start to work in the self-interest of the nation and our race. Stop the blind hunting of racism, which is only reverse racism. Again, It should be said that I am not a racist. Im just a concerned citizen form the heart of the Fed. Moreover some people use the derogatory term: fly-over-people for us, but I just can tell all those people: "You are the racist." |

It is a depressing state of affairs when students of the University of Caille of all places, a university that started in Caille, arguably the best-known cultural melting pot of the entire Federation, are so woefully undereducated as to the cultural and political structure of the Federation at large.
The Federation is just that - a Federation of planets, and of countries and republics and kingdoms on those planets. It is not one single entity made up of one identical people who all share the same beliefs or identity or all speak the same language.
Federation culture is a multicultural one. By its very nature, the individual contributions become mixed and diluted with others over time, but they are still there, influencing and changing how we see ourselves and each other. People are of course free to preserve their own traditions and the like as they see fit - but to ask we celebrate our "core cultural heritage" in the same breath as you dismiss and discredit the cultural contributions of any citizen in the Federation who is not of 'ethnic' Gallentean descent is to dismiss and discredit everyone in the Federation.
It is also a sentiment that goes against one of the core pillars of our Constitution - that of equality.
Your words are far more destructive to the Federation than the contributions of those you malign with them, because of one simple, unfortunate fact: there are fools out there who will listen to you and take you seriously. |

They're just conventions, exactly like referring to electrons as having negative charge - it would be equally valid to describe them as having a white charge, or a north charge.
"Left" in Federation terms refers to a social philosophy that embraces liberalism, difference, lack of pesonal restriction and the free flow of data, but also social policies such as environmental protection legislation, minimum wages, public-funded healthcare and government-owned mass transit networks. Economically, left-wing governments are inclined to tax heavily so as to procure the funds needed for their ambitious social programs. Extreme left-wing governments will nationalise corporations, industry and infrastructure and regulate them directly under a not-for-profit model. historically, this approach has only very rarely failed to result in economic misery for the nation in question,
"Right" refers to socially conservative philosophies involving the preservation of the perceived status quo. Very big on ingroup, respect for authority figures and purity of mind and body. Economic right-wingers tend to favour deregulation, low-if-any government involvement in business and industry, and minimal social structures, although they also tend to be in favour of a large military because of the social attitude. Extreme right-wing governments tend to be nepotistic, paranoid and stratified, with a small minority controlling most of the personal power and wealth, a precarious and impotent middle class and the poor majority largely being placated or even manipulated into supporting the status quo via religion, undereducation, entertainment and jingoism.
Both wings can come to closely resemble one another when they approach their most extreme expressions. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

I'm less keen on the "left" and "right" spectrum, though. Frankly it's a multidimensional space if anything. Maybe we should be quantifying desire vectors in a political space instead of arguing ideologies for awhile. It would at least make things more clear.

-Eran Sorry to tell you, that it was: (1) We have to accept, that humans are not equal. (2) That we all subject of evolution and natural selection, what I call the invisible hand of nature (3) All public institutions which are working against the invisible hand of nature, working in truth againts the self-interest of the nation.
So the base-idea was: "We have to accept, that humans are not equal."

I never disagreed with the fact humans are unequal. I disagree with what you propose because of that fact. Judging by what you said, instead of supporting the young, sick, and elderly, you'd rather they fend for themselves.
You have yet to actually confront or even acknowledge the counter-arguements presented to you. I wonder if you're capable of debate or just set to repeat the same thing. Seems all you're interested in is recieving donations.

I do accept that your spelling and grammar is substandard, though.
So your criticism is point 1.

Yes, sir, that's correct. Your third premise is wrong, invalidating your conclusion. May I suggest re-examining evolutionary theory with the help of an evolutionary biologist? It should go a long way in helping you understand the broad-scale implications of genetic propagation through populations, including the presence of large social structures and apparent altruism.
Alternatively, neurobiology can be very helpful in identifying behaviour motivations, and could give you a new perspective on why we act the way we do.
Best of luck, sir :) |

I know some neuroscience and some genetics, but not so much as an expert in the field. I can try to explain what I know, but you should really discuss it with someone more educated ont he fine details.
Humans aren't really "divided" in the manner you suggest. As the estimable Dr Gridherst earlier mentioned, genetic differences between humans and our closest kin species is somewhere around 2%. This is still thousands of genes, and each one represents a different "division" that a person could fit into. What's more, genes interact with one another, and other nuclear components also contribute to morphology. Combinatorial analysis of all of these factors makes it pretty much impossible to produce a simple "racial categorization" of humans. It simply doesn't work that way.
To your second question; natural selection works in the State exactly as it does anywhere else, sir.
To the more general theme you seem to be driving for - if I may paraphrase, "Institutions that allow individuals to survive where they would have otherwise died are bad." Is this correct? Can we continue on this statement?
To this more general theme, I have a few points to consider
1) Survival is often about chance as much as it is about evolutionary pressure. By helping the individual whom chance betrays, that individual may survive to provide utility to their fellows, helping all improve and thrive. Their death weakens us all.
2) Oftentimes, beneficial morphologies can co-express with detrimental morphologies. A genetic structure which expresses itself as a certain brilliance for logical thinking may also express as a physiological flaw, for example. By saving these individuals from death we preserve their benefits, which help the community as a whole.
3) Individuals with detrimental genetic structures can also carry within them recessive beneficial structures. By keeping these structures within the gene pool of a society, that society maintains a healthy reserve of alternative morphologies that can be expressed in later generations.
4) Environments change. Maintaining a diverse gene pool, complete with genetic structures which are at present detrimental, ensure that the population maintains maximum adaptability in the face of dramatic change. Praise the Ancestor who carries that burden, for they may one day save your heritage.
Hopefully you can understand why we as a species have altruism within us, and why we should be overjoyed by this fact, and not fight against it. |

I get our points. I really love the Idea, that a society weakens itself by not using the full width of its genetic pool (point 1-4). It is very well thought out and I have to say I like your line: "Institutions that allow individuals to survive where they would have otherwise died are bad." It explains the old point better.
Small question: Those the caldari non-entity caste enjoys help from institutions? Could a non-help mean that society is weakens itself. As you mention in point 1:..."individual may survive to provide utility to their fellows, helping all improve and thrive. Their death weakens us all."
I have to say Im not an expert in caldari society and its divisions. So I may get things wrong. |

Ms. Scherezad made some great points already which I could not have said better.
As for how I divide humans, I don't. It's up to God to make those decisions. People are unequl in many ways, from intelligence to height. It doesn't mean a whole lot without some sort of context. As Ms. Scherezad pointed out, even those with the most desireable traits could face a rude fate. You could be the brightest and strongest but it doesn't change the fact a lightening bolt could still kill you just as easy. Natural selection is just as much about chance than it is survival of the fittest.

You are funny one. In general, as I already told: "As long you are happy with my first point, you are the person which does not understand the Federation. And I have not seen any criticism from you about that point." A caldari would not have a problem with inequality, but a Fed-citizen should. That a caldari roles with unequality is not surprising, as they only between see equality in their entity-castes, but not towards the non-entity-caste and foreigners. I would even go so far to say, that they do not help those people (which have not choose to be there, unlike some would claim) because the caldari are working with my old point 3. As well as truefully with point 1 and 2. They only would give it a different name and would do add some exceptions for those which are still a entity-caste, but the core is the same. They justify it with other words, but the end product is the same: Social selection. Where a whole caste can not enjoy public institutions. As I said to Leopold Caine those people are maybe individually selected, but this does not change the nature of their doing. It just means that they do a individually based natural selection and call it: Meritocracy.
So maybe you should also focus your childish rage towards those people which do not respect the ideals of the Federation. Or are one of those which belive that humans are unqual? |

I would even so far go and say, that he belives that strongest should see their wealth and power increase while the weak (or how he would say, the unfit ones.) should see their wealth and power decrease. This concept is quiet easy: If your fit for a position your a good, even seen as "strong". If you are not fit for a postion you are "weak". The more you are fit for a postion which is deeply needed, the more you increase your wealth and power. The other side would be: The less you are fit for a postion and needed overall, the less wealth and power you have. Which is all fine, but the State takes this principle to a maximum as can be seen in the none-entity-caste. And they can do this actions, or lets say inactions, because for them humans are unequal. Thats why it is easy and legit for State to exclude people of public goods .
Moreover, that the non-entity-caste can not enjoy public institutions (and their public goods), which they ones helped to provide. Fredfredbug4 you can call what you like, but in the end it is my point 3. That they focus this action on the non-entity-caste does not change the nature of this action. Now to go back to my old point 2: "That we all subject of evolution and natural selection." I believe when Pieter Tuulinen is saying that his entity-caste friend Saya Ishikari is equal for him (in a Ferderation sense: A human with rights, can consum public goods, etc...), or as he phrase it: Person with a purpose. But this is not the interesting question. The interesting question is what does he sees in her when she is no longer part of a entity-caste? When she is member of the non-entity-caste. Do you think, that a caladri would still see a purpose in her? Would they see her as a person which deserves public goods (security, etc) and rights (legal representation, etc)? If yes? Why do not see such action taken from individuals or state institutions? If no, what does this fact say about the State? I reword my old point 3 for this point: All public institutions which are working for individuals of the non-entity-caste, working in truth againts the self-interest of the State. I would argue that this point is the true nature what some person think, and true nature how they legitimize their in actions and inactions towards certain individuals. |

You are funny. By the way you still have not answer my question. Do you really think, that I take your "It's up to God to make those decisions" cop out as an answer. So again: Why are people unequal for you? In which why they are unequal for you? Do all people deserve rights for you? If the latter question is answer with: "Dude, listen man.... for me people have equal rights." then you should understand that for you humans are equal. And your criticism was point 1-3, but you were to stupid to see it. |

Go back and re-read because I answered your question. People are unequal. Why? Because it's how it is. The universe is unequal in it's design. You're saying nothing noteable with that kind of comment.
I believe most people should have equal rights until they do something that would merit removal of rights. Criminals deserve less rights because of their history. Beyond that, rights should be equal. Just because someone has inequalities doesn't mean they should be restricted of their rights. There's simply no sound reasoning for that, but provide some if you can. My criticisms, as you stated earlier, were points 2, 3, & 4: not 1.
Mainly, my issue was with your notion that institutions who help people are a bad thing. I made examples of why this is a rediculous notion; examples you never addressed.
So then, how would you suggest care for infants, the sick, and the elderly, who could all be considered biologically unequal?

Nauplius looks in the mirror to see his "god." As such his theology is a reflection of his own dysfunction. The "god" of Naulius is glorified in the suffering of others, takes pleasure in the pain and suffering of his subjects, exalts one race over another, justifies the enslavement and oppression of other races in the name of that so-called supremacy. The "god" of Nauplius is defined as "holy" in a complete lack of grace. Psychologically, we have names for that: Narcissism and Sadism are two that come to mind. There is therapy for such conditions and I would be tempted to say that "god" in that case is in desperate need of therapy. However the truth is that Nauplius and those like him who self-define such a "god" in their own image are the ones most in need of therapy. This lie is particularly laugh-worthy coming from an imperial. Exactly how much freedom of speech does the average Amarrian or Ammatar have when there's only one "official" news outlet and all speech is subject to review and/or censure by the Theology Council? I would imagine 2 possibilities

This lie is particularly laugh-worthy coming from an imperial. Exactly how much freedom of speech does the average Amarrian or Ammatar have when there's only one "official" news outlet and all speech is subject to review and/or censure by the Theology Council? While I agree that the Empire practices extremely heavy censorship of speech and thought, I'd imagine capsuleers would be able to express themselves more than the average baseliner.
Snort. I'll just leave this here:
"This tendency has led opponents of the Empire to declare the ACN as little more than an Imperial propaganda tool. While this is in some cases a fair assessment, in practice the Empire does little to censor its news agency. The ACN was the first news corporation to cover embarrassing events such as the gruesome public trial of Aritcio Kor-Azor, all in a relatively unbiased and open manner." |
