With 5x 250mm proto's i kill cruisers 15-30km out before the heavy drones 'get in position'. Sure it doesnt techincally need them but they do help alot in thinning the number quickly.

i use this
high 5 Dual 250 TII <- (fairly efficient, i use them on battleships mostly to compliment my worthless drone skills) 1 drone range mod thingy
mid 4 cap rechargers 1 drone tracking thingy
low 1 LAR II 1 MAR II 2 cap power relay 3 hardeners of choice
For drones i just spam heavy wasps since i get gurista missions. They take care of the smallest ships too eventually and im not really in a hurry. Its wise to have a couple of small drones if you ARE in a hurry. ______________

1 LAR II runs forever... both can run for a pretty long time - long enough to kill enough enemies to not need the 2nd nemore.
Mostly fighting Gurista's, for whom I use 3x n-type kinetic, 1x n-type thermal. Just vary the combo for other rats.
Haven't found a mission to trouble this yet - except the ones with bugs where drones agro the whole room (e.g. World's Collide first room). Can solo the Gurista's Extravaganza bonus stage with it as well... My drones work up to ~70km, so don't need AB - and I come back in another ship to collect loot.

You use 3 n-type kinetic??? Try 2 n-type kinetic and a magnetic energise plating. they stack differently so the energised will do much more than the third active.
Just like with those corpum a-type energised hardeners. A kinetic one of these with a kinetic hardener II outperofrms 2 kinetic hardener II's easily (expecially with good compensation skills). Also they are cheap :)

I see alot of people comment that the Dual 250 MM Rails are really bad, how come? Also, if thats the case what would you suggest instead? 325MM?

i have a total of +120% cap recharge, i recharge my cap in 183. what is your cap recharge

I just tried this in game to make sure.
It doesnt work like that. the energized membranes stack just the same as active hardners. They are all hitting the same stat.
Only membrane I had on hand was a energized basic magnetic plating. 30% resistance to kinetic before skills. 1 rank in kinetic armor comp, so 31.5% after skill. The active hardners used were basic t1 hards.
With 2 active kin hardners: 81.6232 With 2 active kin hardners and 1 energized plate: 84.9261, a difference of 3.3029 With 3 active kin hardners: 86.866, a difference of 5.2428
The passive unit was 63% as effective as the active unit, which is spot on with what you would expect from 31.5 over 50.0.
A corpum A type energized magnetic membrane is 44.5% resistance base, If you had FIVE ranks in kinetic armor compensation it would be worth 55.625%, making it very slightly more effective than a t2 active kin hardner.
