I was under the notion that becoming a pirate was the most profitable path a fighter could take. After reading a guide it appears that most of a pirates income comes from ransoming which I have no interest in. If not a pirate, what path can a fighter take to make money and kill? I don't need to kill innocent people but the occasional pvp would be nice. Making money, above all, is what I value to be my highest priority in the world of EVE. Please advise.

go to ASCN or Big Blue space and gank npcers who don't watch local all day long as a source of income, and when they finally get a blob together to chase you off, you get your pvp :)

you can do missions. I've made enough through missions to finance my char's.

I thought the life of a fighter would be the most rewarding in eve, fun wise and overall enjoyable experience, but just about anybody can do missions. *sigh*

Join a merc corp. Get paid to make kills.

Merc pays well if your good. As a pirate dont ransom people, just pop em. Usually best to lurk main routes into empire a few jumps from empire. Loner industrials are a pirates main source of income, as you can make 2 bil off of one kill. You can also go the gate camp route, but get some friends cause you will have to fight other pirates for good gate camp spots, as well as fight alliances. Alliance pvp "usually" pays the worst, however if you get into small groups the loot from killing t2 fitted ships is nice.
Join a corp that pvps it aint to hard.
