Edited by: Braenca on 06/04/2006 11:51:26 so is it a shield tank or an armour tank? and what the hell do you put in the medium and low slots? It's too slow to use as an interceptor and too weak to use as an assault frigate, hell it can't even fit an assault missile launcher... The damage bonus will be for energy turrets, but their range is crap, so are you meant to use the weedy standard launcher to make yourself feel good about the range of your other weapons? or increase the damage done at close range with a rocket launcher?
I bought one when I was rich, but several skill buying sprees later, and I still havent't used it, and now no-one wants to buy them... so can someone give me a hint as to how I should set the damn thing up and use it please?

Quote: Vengeance - It has the damage output of a wet paper towel. Well not really but it still a bit odd that it doesn't have a single damage bonus. The cap recharge rate bonus has been replaced with small laser damage bonus.
I guess thats going to make it very versalite, fit it the way you like and where you best skills are.

I've used mine before with ok success.
I think it goes something like this:
3x Dual Light Beam II's 1x NOS 1x Warp Scrambler 1x Webber 1x Cap Recharger (speed isn't its greatest thing, so it has more range and the web will help keep things in place) 1x Small Armour Rep II 1x Energized Adaptive Nano II 1x Cap Relay (I'm not sure about that though)
I can't remember exactly, but I think its something like that. I can't get ingame atm to check though.
The idea is that it can shoot at range, and can still hit reasonably close, using a web and Multifreq ammo. It's not amazing, but it does work.

It's a tackler. It'd be MUCH better if they dropped the range bonus for a damage one and kept the cap bonus. It'd make it unique and much, much more useful.

currently the best use for a vengeance is as a down payment on a malediction...
seriously, this ship has no redeeming qualities, and even though it's a 3-slot assault ship I'd gladly face one in my crusader... I can't imagine this thing outperformaing a 15-17km setup MWD crusader with a 20km scrambler...
that's talking strictly one on one, in gangs, a malediction is better in almost every role, including damage output and tackling... the tank is lousy on both ships, so that's not all that relevant... the ONLY redeeming quality of the vengeance is that if you've only trained assault ships and amarr frigates to level 5, it's the only choice for an AF in pvp you have... I'd probably still fly a retribution in a gang before it though

Name: Vengeance Hull: Punisher Class Role: Assault Ship
The Vengeance represents the latest in Kingdoms's ongoing mission to merge fuzzy kittens with small gerbils through Caldari tech, molding the two into new and cuddly forms. Sporting a Caldari shipÆs med slots and shields, as well as a missile hardpoint, on an armor tanking ship that is supposed to use energy turrets, this relentless slugger doesn't do a damn thing well and is a testament to why designing ships and doing hallucinagenic drugs is not a good idea.

nice :)
I just thought of the only way a vengeance could theoretically kill a crusader... fit 2 radar jammers, a 20km scrambler, DLBs, and hope the guy doesn't realize he can't lock you before he MWD/ABs away... you'll get a few lucky kills this way, and it'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy for wasting money on best named modules on a vengeance :)
