Is this intended? Before downtime today the stargate to Josameto in Otela was in the same place as the last years, in orbit around the planet IV cluster. Now it is somewhere in the middle of nowhere. However if I open the map it shows at its old place.
Here's a screenshot of me at the gate, just after the jump, with the map open so you see the gate on grid but on the map it's some 16AU far: > linky <
I cleared the cache just to be sure, still the same. Are other stargates affected? My solo pvp video: Yankunytjude... That attitude! Solo/small gang proposal: Ship Velocity Vectors |

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine yesterday, except when he jumped the gate he landed in his pod (was in a loki). When re logged he was back in his loki but still in the middle of nowhere. Honor is a fools prize. Glory is of no use to the dead.

"That stargate was always there. Really!" Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

People actually know the physical location of star gates?
In all the years I've been playing, I can honestly say that it's never occurred to me to do that. As long as it shows up in the overview and I can warp to it, I don't really care where it is. Or whether it has changed location.

You've never set a ping bookmark off a gate? "Self help is all in your head" |

If I'm anywhere that is hostile, I'm usually fleeted up and someone else is warping me so I just don't pay much attention. Bad? Maybe. Lazy? definitely.
But there you go.
I'm never in one place for long enough to be bothered with bookmarks of any kind. At least since they nerfed deep space safe spots.

This is an RvB area, and there is a LOT of fighting on gates, with lots of to and fro warping, and the location matters! Best not to have gates too close together. Any colour you like. |

Well that explains it. All those ships blowing each other up near the gate all the time, all that energy being released affected the orbit of the gate. Personally I'd blame quantum.
TBH lots of weird stuff happening since the last patch. DB seems very slow too, lots of container/can lag, haven't seen that for years (since they swapped to 64 bit). Oh why oh why is it so hard to deal with other people's code? |

The gate is back to where it's supposed to be. This was the only gate not in its correct location. It was at the same coordinates as the gate it is linked to. We are still investigating how this happened. Erlendur S. Thorsteinsson | Development Director | EVE Online // CCP Games | @erlendur |

Man the biggest thing I've ever lost was my wallet, losing a stargate must be a job-ending event at CCP. I'm curious to hear the explanation for this one... |

So CCP releasea deployable MJD's and a stargate, jealous about a titan's ability to move, decides to have a go at it...
You guys do know that scramming it will stop it from MJD-ing out right? |

Even better!
Imagine CCP would have lost track of the gate's connections... You think you jump to Josameto but land in B-R5RB :D |
