Lost, Dazed & Confused
Galentine Navy. Made it through the tutorial agent and the first stotyline agent. The later told me to go see someone else. But I didn't catch/write down the name location. No emails or listings of said agent #3. Still only have a weak Velator and get womped on in any mission I undertake. Not sure what to do next. Help!?!

The name you're given isn't actually a storyline agent. From there on, after you've gotten your implant, you're free. You may do as you wish. Piracy, trading, mining, building ships, building stations, building empires... it's all up to you. ---
What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?...

What implant? My ship is no match for nearly all missions. And not enough credits to buy an up grade. I have 1/2 million, but need another 27.5 million to upgrade. A hell of an up hill climb.

27.5 mil to upgrade
what the hell are you trying to climb into?
You can complete all level 1 missions with a frigate with moderate skills and equipment (cost ~500K), while level 2 missions are pretty easy in a cruiser (cost ~4 mil) ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs. |

hrm...well the implant is that thing you got as a reward for finishing the storyline sequence. you plug it into your brain and it makes you smarter, more perceptive, etc...
as for upgrading your ship, 500k is perfectly fine. You should be able to afford any normal gallente frigate with money to spare for weapons. Level 1 missions are a cinch unless you really screw up on fitting your frigate.
Check out Restrius' guide on frigates for newbies for some tips on gallente frigates. I don't know much about them but no, it should not take 27mil to upgrade from your newb ship.

Ship progression goes
Frigate -> Destroyer (skipable) -> Cruiser -> Battlecruiser (skipable) -> Battleship.
You didn't try getting a new battlecruiser did you? ---- EVE-Central.com | Obsidian Technologies - Manufacturing, Defense and Logistics. We're hiring! Mail me |

The threads I've seen say get a Altron as an upgrade next. $28K. I'm confusald. Don't know how/where to proceed.
OK, I did have an implant for charisma, but it's a sci tech 3. So I'm upgrading 2 levels to use it. Just have to wait and see.

This game is a bit like Morrowind. They dump you out somewhere and expect you to figure out what to do.
If you had fun killing things on agent missions, I'd continue with that for now at least. First figure out what corp you want to run agent missions for (pick one in your empire, or the one which runs the station you're in right now).
First look at the list of agents under the agent tab, and find one "available to you". Internal security or command or such agents give the most kill missions.
If there are none available, click the blue i top right in the station and go to the agents tab. Find an agent that is available to you, and travel to that station. Talk to the agent, and do missions.

Hmmm OK I'll try that. Thanx Kaladr!
As to the implant...It requires a Science III (upgrading now) and a Cybernetics I. I don't have the later. Does that mean I can not use this implant?

At level one there are lots of delivery missions too. You dont have to fight if you aren't ready, just cart stuff around and earn some money to equip the next ship. Look at the agent's type to get a good guess of whether he will ask you to cart stuff or kill stuff.
And an Atron...where are your math skills? 28K is 28,000. That was not 28,000,000 when I went to school.
An Atron and a couple guns and you can do all the level one missions. You're on your way. Atron is a nice ship.
Don't waste your training time to use that upgrade. Charisma has practically no importance to you right now, and other skills are more important. In fact - I'd sell it if you can get any good money for it. It isn't going to do much for you in your head, if you should get killed by a pirate you will lose it anyway, and if you can get good money for it, wouldn't that be more useful?

Dang! I need glasses to read those small letters/numbers. Didn't see the decimal point.
Too late re: the upgrading of those skills :(
I'll have to check into things when I get back Sunday Night.
Thanx Everyone!
