was trying some stuff out on lvl4s last night with me not tanking for a change so thought I'd try a megathron for damage. Boy were the missions fast!
used something like
highs
7x425proto, 1 TE2100 standard
mids
100ABII, large named shield booster, 2 TII painters
lows
3 mag stab II, 3 tracking thing II, cap power relay
from 50k I could kill most cruisers in 1 volley (using AM) and BS didn't last long either. At one point I got aggrod but they all died so fast only 1 volley of missiles hit me.
I'm sure there are even more damaging ships out there but this was real fun

Except youll be crawling from 1 rat to the next in deadspace. It sucks. Megathron does indeed a very nice job.

yes, tried blaster mega but has the speed disadvantage that you need to close in on your prey - great fun though when it's battleships, not tried an astarte - need a bit of training for that!

the blasterthron can be pumped for speed if your not taking any flack by dropping the tank for nano's.
hi:
7 * t2 neuts
med:
t2 ab
3 * web
low:
3 * t2 dmg mod
3 * nano
cpr
with this setup u have the same speed and agility as a cruiser on ab's. with the 3 webbs u can pop an orbiting t2 spider drone. or u can web 3 BS's that are trying to get to ure sniping buddy. and i'm sure u know what the 3 dmg mods + neuts can do  . damn good fun to fly  i've also popped a BS on a lvl4 angel ganza before having to warp out when i jumped in first and took aggro. hey, no one said blaster fanatics had to be sensible

true. blaster = crawling.
actually mega fitted all 425 t2 + target comps t2 + mag stabs t2 does a nice job. true.
2 bad they include freaking fast moving frigs in deadspace.
blaster is just a change of tactic and more fun :P

If you are crawling too slow, take an Astarte with 7 * 250mm Railguns. Half the range of the Mega, but about the same damage output.
Forgot to mention that it can tank much better.
