Well, im quite new. Been playing a month and got about 500k skill points.
Firstly i keep seeing people using "NOS" what is that? What type of weapon?
Also, im gallente so whats the best setups for our ships? Brutix any good? Whats the best setup for it? Or is it worth maybe getting a cruiser or?
Any tips would be greatful.

Edited by: Barendar on 07/04/2006 19:13:38 NOSferatu is what it's actualy called. It's found under the engineering section and "energy vampires"
They tramfer energy from your target to you. The reason people whine about them so much is because a battleship sized nos will simply obliterate a smaller ships capacitor.
with 500k sp i highly recomend not going for a brutix. They take a fair amount of skills to fly effectively. I'd go for a cruiser in the meantime, i always enjoyed my vexor and was able to do up to level 3 missions in it.

The term "NOS" refers to the Nosferatu, which is an energy drainer that transfers capacitator energy from the target ship, to your own.
Thers is currently a livid debate about the Nosferatus, because some players conceives them as unballanced, as the effect from Battleship Class ones, are not limited when used on smaller class ships.

nos are energy vampires that take cap from a target ship and add it to your own.
Gallente setups typically come in two flavours, long range hybrid or short range blaster, most people I have seen use a short range blaster with strong armour tank setup & lots of drones approach, unless in megathrons in which case they go either 425mm or blasters. Incidently both setups are awesome.
Gallente do have a real edge atm so its good area to train.

3, you can't miss out the often used, nos / drones / tank, setups.
Basicly with ships like the vexor, the dominix, the ishtar. Instead of doing your damage with guns, you rely on your drones. Fit as many nos's as you can to drain your enemy of cap and fit the best tank you can and run it using the stolen cap. Many people fit some Jammers as well.

Just don't forget that when the guy you are nossing runs out of cap, so do you...

Yeah with vexor, the guns are almost useless. Just park at long range and release your drones. "Big guns and heavy armor what else is there?"
