While engaging 5 npc in JWJ-P1 Katt warps in on my blind side, passively locks (got no threat warning), warp scrambles (npc's were 35km to 45km away), launches drones and opens fire.
I was surprised to notice the extra damage for no apparent reason so I zoom out to check things out. Had to zoom all the way out to get enough visible to spot her ship. Checked her stats, 10.0, SA member corp, WTF? not to mention that this particular person had helped a corp mate of mine in hunting a pcp in the same system recently. I was totally confused. Nothing showing in local, no chat, nothing. Anyway, ship destroyed (megathron) pod killed. Chat requests were rejected also. When my corp mate chatted with her she claimed I locked and fired on her. The only thing that may have locked her in that belt was the npc's that behind me and in the situation had me directly between her and them.
If someone is manuvering and not returning your fire (and you assumed they had locked and fired once), when they were severely damaged and you had not been hit or damaged why else would you continue to fire and then to pod kill unless you were a PK'er.
I dont wanna hear all the crap about 'you were in a 0.0' or 'you knew the risks going to unsecure space alone'. What I want to see discussed is (a.) is this a accepted behavior by a Stain alliance member? (to destroy the ship and pod kill someone that 'appeared' to have locked and fired on you ONCE? With no further damage? And NOT in the Stain region?) I realized from the layout of the battle that it could appear that I had locked her with the npc directly behind me. But that is still no excuse. The only reason I could see going through with killing a ship that was not firing back was pure and simply to PK.
(b.) Why would a obviously 'good' player do this. Katt has helped people in trouble that were in over their heads NPC hunting in that system before. (observed by corpmate, second hand info)
Most likely will not be replying, but will read replies to this thread (I normally never post to fourms, first time, ever, probably last). Keep your condolances, comments about eve being a PvP game, and all the other useless flames. And I wont be quitting EVE. I will however, be rethinking my gameplay.

Iknow im part of SA but it could sound like you want to ruin SA reputation... but talk to Solar winds ceo... then i think there will be a investigation going on...

Sorry, not my intention to put SA in a bad light. Nor am I out to ruin their reputation, after all, how can you hold all the corporations in SA accountable for one pilots actions?
I will attempt communication once with Katt and that corp ceo.

ROFL, m0o, Sinister, Paladins of the Red Skull, Space Invaders and other pirate corporations are honest about it.
A piece of advice, if you don't get your stuff back (fat chance), treat all SA corporation members as targets to be destroyed.

Heh, I haven't even been logged in with Skillz for a while. A part from training new skillz, I've just been cultivating my deep throat spy in your corporation.
BTW: Calvert, thanks for your fourth outright lie and pure fabrication. Enables me to activate my sleeper agents without remorse.

Wow...that shocks me that an SA member would open fire like that. I have never heard of them opening up like that with out warning. I hope that this was a HUGE mistake on the SA's part. I kinda have some respect for SA and would hate to lose it.

I still have no reply about this incident from either the CEO or the party involved.
For some final clarification if anyone in SA cares to pursue this.
Traing lvl of Targeting skill: Lvl3 (5 targets MAX)
# of NPC in belt: 5 (2 depredators/3 predators) or the opposite number (3/2)
As you can see I had NO WAY to target lock Katt. This totally discounts the claim that I locked and fired first.
As an additional note I was configured with 2 425mm rail and 2 250 rail prototypes, 3 cu vapors and 1 advanced limos fitted with defenders. I was there to clear the belt and mine. Why in the hell would I attack a combat armed Apocalypse? I am not insane, I would never have risked my ship that way.
With the rejected chats, no attempts at communication, no replies to evemail sent to SW CEO, and the pod kill I am left to conclude (based on the evidence) that this was a intentional action.
Again, this is NOT an attempt to portray the SA in a bad light. This is about ONE pilots actions. I mention the link to the SA for the sole purpose of making its members aware that this to me was 'pirate activity' by one of its member corporations pilot which the SA has declared they will not tolerate.
A apology for a mistake would be welcome, as would a offer of compensation by the other party(as a courtesy, would not accept it anyway.)

AFAIK, the CEO of Solar Wind was not on yesterday to reply, so please don't get think SW is trash just because the CEO hasn't replied yet. I assure you this will be dealt with. |

as yasir said, i believe our CEO has family issues he is tending to, and is away for at least a few days. i firmly believe that Solar Wind is a "good guy" corp, and will see this issue resolved.
also, we don't have as many forum *****s as most, so a 1-2 day reply time is about average for us i think

I am sorry for your loss. I have not had the oppourtunity to hear Katt's explination of what happened in that belt.
I have had the oppourtunity to work with Katt over the past 3.5 months in the corp and what you describe is truely "out of character" for Katt.
Katt usually goes out of her way to help those who get into trouble. She is always willing to give a helping hand when she can...
I will talk to Katt and find out why she fired on you and If there was a error we will of course compensate you for you loss.

In this case that wouldn't matter much since the argument really isn't wether Katt destoyed him, but if it was an unprovoked attack or not.

About sitting still when ship blowing causing pod to blow, I was under mwd power at the time, using the speed to keep distance from npc's. Unsure if the pod would continue its forward motion at that speed or if it would slow instantly.
