Eve over the last three years has improved to such a point in its life where there isn't much left to improve upon. Simply put, theres little fish left to fry. Tiericide and balancing has brought almost every single ship into viability in PvP in the subcap world. TiDi has made incredibly large scale fights possible. The only way this can improve is when technology that can support it improves. This one is just a waiting game. CCP is winning the fight in the EVE is a "spaceship game"
On the null sec front, Sir Molles dream is steadily being realized by the CFC. There will be no alliance in the future that will be able to collect the resources and manpower that the CFC could and put up a decent fight.
So what's left for CCP to work on in the next two years?
Few things I could imagine:
Finish balancing all ships
Changing / balancing ECM, Cloaking etc
High Resolution texture pack
Finishing and wrapping up Incarna.
Further expansion on Incarna features / games
Further DUST improvements and integration
Speculation: Introduction of a new race?
Any other speculations? How do you think CCP will further improve and add to the game? |

You must not experience very much of the game to assume there are so few things that need work.
SOV mechanics need an overhaul; they are not fun for those who own space, and not fun to take from the owners (structure bashing with timers is less fun than a self-inflicted lobotomy).
Mining missions anyone? No. Waste of time. Completely ruined quite a while ago.
Manufacturing in Null is not worth doing.
PI in hisec is pointless.
Power Projection has a list of issues with it that all need to be addressed. Blob warfare would be fine if it wasn't possible to blob any point on the map with kitchen sink fleets. Blobs crash nodes, or drag them to a halt that drains the fun out of the combat.
Drone assist is out of control (needs limits or removal)
HML's are junk
Several other weapon systems have issues as well.
PVE missions could be made a lot more dynamic and fun. Currently they are best used only as a testing ground when changes hit, or to be zerged for max isk/hr until your eyes bleed.
Seriously I could go on for quite a while. Most of the issues I have listed have been discussed all over the boards. |

After Aphocrypha CCP failed to deliver some key expansions:
Dominion -> Sov system
Incursion -> PVE
Tyrannis -> Industry
Incarna -> Walking in station/avatar gameplay
All these expansion were, for different reasons, a fail. But where correct in the strategic areas they were triying to address and fix. Those areas are still the major weakness open and in need of iteration/development.
But is not something they can do simply allocating a couple of Excell specialists to polish stats. They require a brain, designers/developers and hard work.
I doubt CCP is actually able to do it.

After all the other stuff is finished, a new race would be interesting. They would have to come complete with their own series of regions, including pirate regions, as well as the same number of ships as the other empires.
Or, maybe this "new race" would follow a completely different ship convention. Instead of frigate-->destroyer-->cruiser-->battlecruiser-->battleship-->caps they would have a different convention. I like.
