The overview system is still objectively bad.
I recently left the trading hub for some PvP and I forgot just how garbled and unintuitive changing the ship filters are, and of course it's something utterly necessary for PvP.
I think UI iterations should keep on coming, there's a long way to go. |

I read this thread earlier today at work and have been thinking about it. I hope that EVE is not "done". I have been around for a long time and I hope that it is not so polished that now the devs have nothing to do but "over-dev" things in the game too much (nerf CPU/powergrp add/remove slots to ships...) I also hope we have not all been there / done that here. I see they are adding Valkyrie and DUST...those seem to be outside games linked to the wildly successful EVE Universe. I like EVE how it is now, the interface to so much nicer compared to what it was when I started playing. I don't like some of the changes to the ships and gameplay, but I know they are there to keep the game from getting stale. What is next for EVE, and all of us? Looks like most of us will have our character names engraved on a monolith!! That's pretty cool |

On the null sec front, Sir Molles dream is steadily being realized by the CFC. There will be no alliance in the future that will be able to collect the resources and manpower that the CFC could and put up a decent fight.
So what's left for CCP to work on in the next two years?
Few things I could imagine:
Finish balancing all ships Changing / balancing ECM, Cloaking etc High Resolution texture pack Finishing and wrapping up Incarna. Further expansion on Incarna features / games Further DUST improvements and integration Speculation: Introduction of a new race?
Any other speculations? How do you think CCP will further improve and add to the game?

Tiercide was going great until they made Interceptors OP as hell, and instantly making all other ships mere hanger ornaments as far as nullsec in concerned.
Lets not get started on sov-mechanics, POS's, Blobs, and the ability to travel across a galaxy in the time it takes to make some toast.
CCP seems to have a tin ear when it somes to all these glaring issues, and instead we get the ESS. Don't Panic.

Combining EVE with War Thunder (Or Valkyrie, both support Oculus Rift) and Planetside 2 is what's left to do.
If that ever happens I may never be able to leave my PC again but that's ok, I've plans for such an event. Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Sura Sadiva wrote:Wu Jiaqiu wrote:Any other speculations? How do you think CCP will further improve and add to the game? After Aphocrypha CCP failed to deliver some key expansions: Dominion -> Sov system Incursion -> PVE Tyrannis -> Industry Incarna -> Walking in station/avatar gameplay All these expansion were, for different reasons, a fail.
The current system is light years better than spamming starbases to control a system.
Incursions are quite popular, not sure how you think this is a failure.
Tyrannis was a PI expansion, not an Industry expansion. There is quite a lot more to Industry than just PI, and Tyrannis was never intended nor promised to cover the rest of Industry.
The failure of Incarna was the idea itself. The failure was CCP devoting 90% of the dev team to a feature barely anyone wanted. The failure was that it was actually released before CCP realized how pissed off people were that they weren't going to actually be working on the game for 18 months. They rectified this failure quite expertly by realigning the focus back on to flying in space. The fact that not a week goes by without several "I WANT WIS!!!!!!" whine threads popping up does not mean a majority, or even a large minority, of people actually want incarna. |

Speculation: Introduction of a new race?
Any other speculations? How do you think CCP will further improve and add to the game? I haven't been a really big fan of all the rebalance moves. and I certainly don't want anything done to cloaking other than the removal of the cloaked pilots names from local while they are running silent. Also, with all the changes to textures and addition I have had problems running multiboxed account on the same computer.. Adding yet more high rez objects at this point seems unnecessary.. I would like a way to make at least three accounts work well on my machine. I see no reason to add a new race.. new NPC races.. maybe.
I think additional types of mining with new material types would be a good way to go for industry.. I want to see the comet mining come into the game. I want it to be difficult and dangerous... but profitable. I'd like to see some type of of dark matter mining.. spooky dangerous.. I'd like to see solar plasma or some type of gas mining from different types of suns.. again unque processes and dangerous... with solar mining there should be a progressive danger in minutes a ship would be able to stay close enough to mine a sun. I want to see more use for complicated alloy types - a real use for metalurgy, new additional minerals, it would be nice to have a deployable minor drone base -so you place your drone base and set it to mining an area while your ship moves off to mine elsewhere. but simple mining should not change. Yeah there is a lot that could be added to industry... -á-á- remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not-á "afk" cloaking-á-

It did for EVE what PvE/consumption expansions for games almost always does: generate an initial peak of interest that quickly drops off and drags the numbers down. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Removing Cloaky pilots for local would be brutal, I kind of like it. as an aside: One of the things that I have always enjoyed about eve, is the suspense of operating in null/low, and the idea that your never truly safe, it adds character to the game. |

You can debate that the gates send the intel and then guess at the presence of these ships ..after pilots use the gates but that would mean that pilot log offs or log on in the system would not update local intel.. it doesn't make sense.. just remove the cloaked from local unless they chat. -á-á- remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not-á "afk" cloaking-á-

Sometimes CCP is too careful imho. Incursions would be a lot more interesting if they actually meant something. A simple modification, say incursions mean Sansha forces will randomly select and attack POS's and POCOs, would actually have an impact. You wouldn't be able to ignore them like you can now. A Nullsec incursion might actually rate an alliance mail. CCP has become too timid imho... with the obvious exceptions of the new deploy-ables and tetricide. Those are brilliant.

I have a distinct feeling this is was troll post. I wouldn't even know where to start. We need a proper expansion not just ship rebalancing tweaks, by the way that was overdone. The rollercoaster of buffs and nerfs makes me dizzy and it's bad for starting pilots. It's frustrating to skill for something that is likely to be nerfed by the time you skill for it. Then wait 3 years for it to be useful again. |

The mouse cursor is sized for a 640*480 display, that's quite an obvious UI quirk. Also the icons to identify ships are still the same than they were at the beginning : frigate, cruiser, industrial and battleship, there could be more differentiation. |

Stepping off that rollercoaster is exactly why the tiercide project was started.
I challenge you to point to a ship that has been nerfed to the point of not being useful by tiercide. Some OP FoTM ships have been rebalanced to be merely equivalent to other ships in their class, but that's common sense rebalancing, not "dizzying".
