Last night the PVP-BASIC class consiseted of no less than 2 trial accounts all learning the ropes of pvp. After the instruction in techniques and live fire drills on rats, we ventured into 0.0 space. During the next 4 hours we managed to get 12 kills including a Scorpion and a Tech 2 Thorax with Tech 2 drones. In addition we had a Raven scrambled and dead but had to abort that attack due to arrival of a massive BoB fleet in local who, ironically, finished the job for us; much to the chagrin of the Raven driver who apparently hadnt heard that BoB reset standings to everyone.
There was a brief, lethal, and enormously laggy encounter with a 135 ship Goonfleet fleet. We lost 8 pilots before we could warp out. The podded ones in all circumstances ended up back at base getting their spare ship and being rejoined.
At the time of the tech 2 Thorax encounter at abotu 4:00 am Eve Time, we were down to 14 participants. It took a while to take him out but we did take him out, loosing 6 pilots in the process. We escorted the pods home and called it a night.
All of the students were learning the basics of PVP. I was the only vetran there and they handled themselves magnificently. It was a real pleasure to command them and I hope we have more classes of that calibur. Quite soon opponets were running from us, the first few that assumed a bunch of noobs couldnt do much learned the hard way.
*salute to all participants*
You DONT need millions of SP to PvP. You need courage, training, perseverence and a desire to fight back. Isnt it about time you learned to fight back?

Oh god.
14+ ships with even one EW mod is giong to wtfpwn lone ships.
Break your classes down to 3 or less participants per 'class' and you'll have exactly where you want to be.
Anything more and simple numbers outweigh any other factor. ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever

Yeah, but then again its amusing (To me at least)...
victim: "hahaha lookit all teh stuuupid noobs" *minutes later* victim: "omgomgomg helpp the noobs (literally) are blobbing me!"
course, i wouldn't want to be in that position.
(rells - Haniblecter is still right tho. maybe once those guys graduate a little :P) ---

Rells you must be REALLY afraid of newbies catching up to keep posting how you can blob solo vets with noobs.
Congrats for doing the obvious.

The obvious? Hardly that. If you think it is so obvious then why havent you done that. I do a HELL of a lot of work with PVP-BASIC to give my customers value. Its not simply invite them all to gang and go for it.
And Syndicate is the HARDEST area in the game in which to survive. You routinely encounter huge fleets and its a full out mosh pit.
Why dont you stow it and stop trolling threads with nonsense. Since you clearly dont know what the hell you are talking about that would be my advice. Your 2 months in this game doesnt trump my 3 years off and on across 2 main char. You havent listened to a single vet, many of them who have no love for me personally, telling you that you are wrong. You still think its a conspiracy to get newbies killed?
Dont believe me. Ask my students. -- Rells

TBH, this isn't new. 15 frigates being able to take on a battleship, with less then a million SP, has been known to be a good/cheap/effective tactic. If it wasn't known, GoonFleet and GoonWaffe wouldn't be reconized as the threat that they are. And like it was pointed out earlier, sure, 15 newb frigates can be effecive, BUT, only with an experienced leader. Not someone who has taken a "class" on it. Otherwise, they'll just be slaughtered. --------------- My views do not reflect the views of my corp, or my own views. |

If you're getting kill rates of 1:6 how is that even comparable enough to be not considered a slaughter?

Was it a Thorax, or a Diemos? The original post said tech2.. just curious. --------- "English doesn't borrow from other languages. English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through thier pockets for loose grammar. " |

Sounds like you guys are having fun rells! If I had to learn the game by spending months in empire mining veld I would never have continued playing beyond the two week trial. By going out into 0.0 right off the bat and learning what the real draw to the game is you not only get to have fun blowing things up, you also don't have any opportunities to learn bad empire habits that'll ruin your future gaming experience.
So bravo rells and I hope more people follow your example.

Which proves his point that noobs can be effective, although, as someone else has said, only if they have some idea of which way to turn.
Losing 6 t1 friggys for a t2 fitted Rax is a pretty cost efficient trade imo. GJ Rells.

Hmm this is good, i is wanting to learn more, does one rells offer classes in the art of PVP to others of interested in the PVP of EVE. I have one been longing to conquer a many players as the rats are of simpla and easy prey to hunt. The human players are of more difficulty to hunt as they use thoughts and fear to drive them.
I is to be hunting those who are stronger than i to become stronger than one self.

Hey, this is great! A lot of people in this game get fed up and frustrated with PVP when all they have is a crusier.
I think it's great that someone is taking a real effort to teaching people that even a squad of frigates can do some serious damage.
The game IS more then SP, even if having a 15 million doesn't hurt ;)

If I could afford your class I might consider taking it someday, but ISK's just don't seem to hang around in my wallet for long. /sigh
