So I've been away from the game for a while. Left right around the time collectors edition thing was on sale. Since that time I've read that cruisers got a pretty big boost. Did this buff transfer over to recons, or have they not been touched yet since they are t2?
Just curious as I may start training for them sooner than anticipated if they have been buffed.

Nah recons apart from the curse are still garbage. Apparently CCP still fear they may become solopwnmobiles if given any equivalent to cruiser stats.

Ah ok. They are still up for a re-balance however long from now when CCP decides to get around to t2 hulls, right? |

Doesnt look like recons are high on the priority list for rebalance. They are in a pretty good spot atm though. For small fleets they are absolutely great. |

Load up EFT and try and make a Pilgrim fit that doesn't suck, you'll be disappointed.
Generally speaking the respective T3s make better recons than the recons do. Recon rebalance is coming down the pipe eventually |

Since the E-War frigs got buffed - i dont often fly my recons - just have a look at the Hyena for support fleets - its speedtank and web range is just awesome. I hope the Recons will get a boost. |

tried to fit a huginn in eft the other day. 3 guns, 3 missiles, 6 highslots. The damn thing feels like its missing about a 1/3rd of its intended powergrid. It can't even fit its highslots. I thought it was supposed to be a combat ship?

I truly hate split weapon systems. Ccp needs to start giving ships the ability to field either one or the other. Or the ability to field a full rack of either. |

CCP just rebalanced EAF's with this last expansion. I suspect that Recon Rebalance will come with the next major expansion.
Recons, Black Ops, and Strategic Cruisers are the ship classes I suspect will receive major rebalance in the next 6 months.
Logistics, HICs, and Covops/Stealth Bombers will receive some minor tweaks.
Command Ships will receive some tweaks as well, especially if they move command processors to rigs instead of midslot modules. This will inevitably happen when they revisit fleet boosting, which is going to become a different beast in my understanding. I suspect his is about 1 year out.

They've been moving away from split weapon systems with most ships they've rebalanced. I suspect they will do so with Recons, too. |

Rapier, Curse, Falcon these are good ships.
Curse is really good for solo vs. PVP and PVPPP... if you select proper targets and one of these targets is willing to fight you.
Falcon... ECM... do I need to say more?
Rapier still great against small frigates and fast stuff. Especially as hidden surprise against the pesky nano, kiting fleets. |

Still very viable in the right situations. Force recons for armor fleets, Combat recons for shield, mix and match as needed.
They still do the job slightly better than t3 at a lower price but with less tank and thus more risk/reward, but no skillpoint loss if you lose 'em.
Some fits can solo decently (pilgrim, blaster falcon, 'razu, some rapier fits, Rook (but who fights a rook voluntarily) and of course there's always blackops shenannagins.
What I'd loooove to see more of is actual black ops cynos used to augment existing fleets with "suddenly 3-4 falcons at optimals" i'm surprised more people don't do that with their roams in general, when they ask for ewar support.

Now try HUggin, Laechis and Rook. There is no reason to use those over the cloaky ones.
Huggin should suffer the same changes as the bellicose. Loose the split bonus , focus on missiles and move a high to a mid or to a low.
Laechisis is harder to balance Maybe give a larger drone bay and bandwidth?
Rook. That one is hard to balance givign a role that the falcon cannot do but without making it overpowered.
Maybe removing generic ECM bonus.. Make it a combat ship..... but with 25 M drone bay and a bonus to ecm drone strenght? (I said was hard to get an idea)

People seem to think that Recons are supposed to be a pwnmobile and then get upset when they're wrong.
Lets keep in mind that Recons come from the same philosophy that created the cov ops frigate and bomber. Acknowledge them for that they are - essentially a bomber with a slightly wider engagement profile, way more ehp and more GTFO ability, and you'll do just fine flying one because you'll understand that caution and piloting skills are your best assets while behind the wheel of one. Cov ops and bomber pilots are quite content with recons, because they already have the skills and piloting experience necessary to survive in them.
Its the tards that think of their role as being synonymous with HAC's or T3's that seem to think of them as being ****, and these are not the kinds of people that should be flying recons in the first place.
Not even recon pilots want to fly recons in all situations. They are not some uber-adaptable ship that can do anything you want them to. They are situational. Great in small fleets, not so great in large ones, workable as solo ships.
