With all due respect some of you are missing the point. The reason goes beyond choke points. Its not all about living the carebear life, lots of people would want the greater risks that come with 0.0 life, they just dont want to stand in "Raid formation" for 5 hours a night while other people decide what they do, when they do it and how all the time.

Darkenral made the most sense in this entire 5 page thread, necro or not:
Originally by: "Darkenral" Well just by looking at the map, it is painfully clear that the bulk of EVE players find the play style / mechanics of Empire play to be preferable to 0.0 play.
There are any number of reasons for this IMO but I believe it can all be boiled down to the simple fact that people play a GAME to have FUN, and obviously the environment in 0.0 is not fun for the bulk of the player base.
Name calling and flames aside CCP will either address that or not.
Dark
QFT.
I'm a new player, less than a month. CCP wants my money, but as far as I can tell, their endgame looks grim, very very grim. 0.0 space seems like a small number of powerful players ruthlessly crushing anyone weaker who dare to venture off the beaten path. Certainly not something to work towards, to look forward to.
I'm having fun now, but I won't count on the endgame to make it all worthwhile if boredom sets in along the way. CCP, this is your game, make it worthy of my cash. You've got me for a month or two more at least.

We have a winner.
Out of any given 0.0 region there are only a handfull of systems worth the trouble. And basicly all of those are under the control of established alliances.
The easiest way to fix this is change all 0.0 space so that there are exactly NO systems with less than -.50 true sec status. This will at the very least make nearly every system mineable, and ratable. (are those words?)

Simple question - how, exactly, does a player go about getting a NAP?
Seems to me I can go out there in an alt, or on the main, and ask nicely.
If it's the main, I stand to be podded by 'undesirables', but if it's an Alt then I am automatically an Alt-Spy.
So, barring the Yarr-Brigade who are mostly between 0.4 and 0.1, and supposing I get thorough, can people from 'Alliances' explain just how it is done without being instantly podded for not being 'Blue'?
Thanks, Dru

This isn't accurate. This just represents the places on the globe where there's electricity and other hi-tech fancy shinangigans. In fact, there's probably a even spread, and in fact, possibly even more people, in the dark areas. They just don't live to our standards.
Like the deserts, ice caps, jungles and mountain ranges? It does represent that there are many places undiserable or nearly impossible to live. Just like eve
edit: omg spelling.
Oh yeah, that map is definately accurate... china being the most populace country on earth and yet, one of the least well represented on that map.
Have you ever even SEEN a political map of earth? Can you point to china on that map?
It took you 6 months to come up with that reply? Honestly, April Pepperami doesn't care. And my point seems to be correct, there's places which simply are undiserable/hard to live.. And eve having the same things is a correlation between earth and itself. However does it matter? No it doesn't. Now unnerf ammar.
And stop replying to dead threads.

Heh, don't listen to them much. In fact never listen to mmo forums. If you always listened to mmo forums there wouldn't be an enjoyable game ever made. I am 3 months old and running about 0.0 without a hitch. Sure you do have to watch out for enemies, thats what makes this game fun. Sometimes your way is blocked, but just bide your time and once your through the more tense zones your usually ok.
I feel the only point to empire in this game is a place to go and pick up a new ship to head back out to 0.0. If i had to stick to empire, I would have quit this game in the first week since empire is horribly boring.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who finds gimbal lock *REALLY* annoying. Quaternions FTW!
