I just recently acquired some bookmarks for the Heimatar region... But when I try to put them in my People & Places window, they don't copy at all....
The first dozen copied alright but the rest aren't moving... I tried to drop them all at once and left the comp running all night long but no difference. Now even single BM won't copy at all.
Anyway to fix or accelerate that?

You can drag a few at a time, 10 at most, ONTO the Places tab, or onto a folder under People & Places to add them.
If you try to drag them all at once, the server detects that yuo're trying to cause crippling lag by not making your own bookmarks and delays the copy by upwards of hours. -- Lil Miner |

Upwards of hour...? How many for 500 bms then?

Try to do it when it's not primetime and in a system with a low number of pilots. Done that way I can copy maybe 2-300 bms/hour. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings!
Copying them into your People N Places folder might be a problem-but putting them in there (or uploading them) is a cakewalk, although it is a slow process. For best results (assuming the BM's are in a container or your items hangar)try this:
Do a "select all" on your bookmarks.
Drag and drop them into your People and Places.
Close (not just minimize) your People N Places.
There will be a bit of a lag spike when you first drop them (can be avoided if you close the PnP real fast), but once you get the PnP completely closed they should upload fairly smoothly. You should be able to get 500 or more per hr in this way.
As for copying I won't give away all of my "tricks", but a good method is to do small batches (say 10-20 at a time) from your PnP to a container. This can be tedious, but if you go with larger batches the process gets extremely bogged down (everything crawls) and sometimes only part of your batch will actually copy at all.
By far the easiest copying method is to avoid copying at all and purchase your bookmarks from a reputable dealer...I won't mention any names here
