I hear from plenty of players now that they "have 3.2m SP, and 540m ISK in the bank".
Quite simply, how? Since I currently have ~35m SP and 60m ISK accross two characters.

Yeah, been wonering that too... BPOs are not the only key, I imagine, as there ios plenty rich bastardos around
I find, tho that whenever I lose a fully fitted BS, the money for the mods finds its way to ym hands fast, and then the flow stops till I get another one blown up --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

It's not hard to make money if that's your goal.
Just happens to be that making money is mind-numbingly boring. I'd rather be blowing stuff (players) up then chaining belt rats or running missions.
In short: Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it.

I have just over 2 mill SP's and somewhere over 400 mill (plus 20 ships at least, several barges, 5 hoarders, 4 cruisers, 1 BC, etc).
Simply put, mining. I alternate with some missions when i get too bored. I dont PvP (not yet at least), i look at this as building a foundation for what i want to do in the future :)
I think the income "masterplan" goes fairly much like this : "Have a steady income though whichever means you enjoy without losing 20 ships daily in PvP" :p

most of which has been earned in the past month doing level 3 and storyline missions and getting decent implants as rewards

Gotta agree that being self made is way more rewarding then any ebay influx.
Having a big cash donatation will end up in expensive tastes, and you'll just burn through it looking for more.
Learning curve is there for a reason, too much too fast will just lead to disaster.

Whats really funny is i didnt even have to do much. just be ensuring my scout drone skill was low (or whatever skill increased drone range) i just parked my domi clear of buildings, aggroed everything in a specific order, launched drones, turned on first med rep and went off for cup of tea.
Then I would come back and keep an eye, turning on the second med rep as needed.
It was boring yes, but i was able to do other things at the same time, so did not hurt the brain too much with endless repetition.

Thats probably because you were chasing faction ships for zillions of LP, whereas i was earning 130mil per 15k lp... and with that i totally give away what i was doing and maybe help someone take a break from mining or raven spammage :p

Well I only have 812k SP but am very near my first 100mil in liquid form (plus 2 cruisers, a hauler, a few frigs, and a load of shuttles dotted around the place) and I've not been focused on money making soley but trying to explore different aspects of the game. The trick to making money is definately tradeing ... no not hauling ... tradeing . Every other way of making money is restricted by simply how many hours you can dedicate to it where as tradeing is the only money making method I know of so far in the game that isn't restricted in this way. Your only cap on how much you can make is your capital and the supply/demand of the various markets you play. You even make money offline this way. When my liquid capital has grown even further I can easily see myself literally buried by my hugiferous piles of wonga

Omber you can find from 0.7 space and down in Minmatar space :)

doing L4's can make you stupid rich atm.
I do mission, when i hit 30 000 - 90k LP i usualy get multiple +3 implants as offers, onec i got 8 +3 perception.. that made me a easy 240 million isk.
and i get 5300 LP per mission, so thats 6-7 missions for 30k LP, wich give me, usualy, 2 +3 implants. 50m isk for 2 implants and then 20 for mission rewards (bonus) and 10-15 more in NPC bounties.
so i make alot of isk when im in for it, drone missions in L4 give you ISK like crazy, i usualy get 5300 LP, 3 million reward and 25m isk in drone alloys.. PER MISSON.. so that can put me on 100-150 mill a day avrage over a week.
but when i got alot of isk, say 300-500m, i usualy start to loose stuff.
Lost 2 viators (one loaded with a taranis + modules, other loaded with tech2 items for around 60m, aswell lost all my +3 implants due to jumpclone ****up)..
so yeah, you make stupid isk doing missions for a 0.5+ agent.

Honestly, with missions, it's easy to make isk. getting high Ql level 3's, level 4's, with the associated social skills for LP's, and only cashing out on implants, it's very east to make isk. Boring, but very easy.

Edited by: HairyGary on 13/04/2006 17:09:54 Just over 2m SP (1.15 or so of that in learning) and I have about 400m. I neither mine nor run missions.
I made most of it the same way I paid for my epic mount in WoW with a level 8 character.
Edit: That's not to say I've never mined an asteroid or run a mission. I did briefly mine maybe 3 million worth of kernite early on before I decided mining wasn't for me.
I run missions, but not as a primary source of income. I've been doing a few lately because I'd like to start using research agents.

Edited by: Evil Thug on 13/04/2006 17:13:25 Just for interest I made a bet with my friend. I`m creating trial account, and in 2 weeks, he must be self sufficient. i.e. i must payed for him, using isk, that i earned with this account. No isk transfers from my main, ofc.
Ok. I created Caldari \ Deteis. Entered Russian channel, and started to beg for isk. I received around 3m in donations, while completed my tutorial. Ok. I have enough for 10 kestrels, with basic fitting, and went to complexes, scattered around eve. During my 2 weeks i received domi web, and domi gyro, from angels 1\10. Not bad, ehh ?
Next step - trades. After 2.5 years of playing EVE - i discovered buy orders (yeah, i`m slow). Just for curiosity, i placed an order for slave alpha implants, for like 50m. Imagine, when i`m logged in - order were filled. Resold this implant in a few hours later for 100m. For example, travel to a system next to 0.0 - Torrinos, for example. And buy here all x5 and fleeting webbys (need alot of cash, i know). Resell it. Destroy (on market) every opponent, that you will see. Ppl have too much cash these days. Why should we not use this factor ? Veteran player don`t give a ****, about x5 webby, bought for 5m, instead of 2m 3 jumps away. He is lazy to travel for it. Lazy - pay more :)
There is loads of opportunity to earn isks. You just need dedication, and free time. Btw, sometimes, fights on market \ escrow is more bloody, than fighting in 0.0 space ----------------------------------------------- Logged in a system, next to you =) |

I see a lot of people going googly over the idea of someone having several billion isk as being the highpoint in eve's rich community, but it's not. An outpost alone costs 30 billion isk and there are a good few players in the 20-60 billion isk range. The last check that I remember showed someone with a wallet of 54 billion isk, if I remember correctly. And that's just his wallet. Taking fluid assets into account (not outposts, they aren't fluid as they're permanant and can't be taken down), the richest person in eve probably has access to about 100 to 200 billion isk if he sold everything he and his corp owned. Think cap recharger II and HAC bpos.
EDIT: Evil Thug has the right idea. There are a lot of players out there and the best way to make isk is to exploit as many of them as you can. If that means hauling nice T2 and named things out into low sec and reselling them for 10x cost at a place convenient for an older player, do it. They'll buy the thing because they're lazy and you'll capitalise on the laziness of thousands of players.

EvE has a grind just like any other game. its not a skill grind but an isk grind.
Only Exception is T2 BPOS and market orders where you make isk AFK.

I have about 2.5 Million SP and about 50 - 60 Million ISK to my name. No implants, because as soon as I put them in, I get podded. They're bad luck talismans, steer clear!!
On the other hand, havent been popped in...ooh...about 5 days now. Funnily enough, havent used implants in....5 days either.

Filling 2-3 Giant secures with loot takes about 5 hours or so, it takes about two of these loads to fill up one giant secure can with mins + good mods.
So, every 10 (give or take) hours I have + 120 mill in bounties, mins and mods. ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever

Yeah, honestly, so many people say they have problems making money... I don't see it though.
I mean, I have have like 700k skill points, have been playing for just barely a month, and I have a decked out Maller and another 35,000,000ISK in the bank. I made most of the money just running complexs and ratting (while admitting a fair amount was milking a spawn point to the tune of 1.5M an hour). But even before finding the spawn point, I was making considerable money running level 3 deadspaces and ratting in .3 space witha destroyer.
My real problem now is, I'd like to have a bit more before buying my BC, but ratting in .1 is too easy, not enough money (occaisional 4x 80k spawns, but not often), but I'm not too keen on going to 0.0 in a cruiser.

Meh, who needs isk in the wallet anyhow, i luv spending it as fast as i get it.
Fastest and biggest moneytransfer sofar was making 350 mill in 1 day then immediatly spending most of it by buying a Nighthawk
Offcourse if i were to sell off all my stuff i would be a billionaire too.

Sell your soul to an agent and then sell the implants he gives you in return.
I sold 10 +3 Intelligence the other day, 33 mil each __________________________________ Are you a mission runner? Have you tried our Agent Tool and Mission Guides? You should! |

Hmm, u must have been doing something wrong. You used multiple agents, and only did a single mission for each after turning down an undesirable offer, all the time trying to stay as close as possible to 15k lp?
Thats all it took, no real magic other than leaping on the FOTM and making an industry out of it.
The more i think about it, i think i got the majority of my prizes in a 10 day goldrush. It took a month to sell them all though, didn't want to flood the market did i? :)
edit: if you have any questions i'll happily share the answers, i'm nice like that, once i made what i needed :)
