My first question is: Those secure containers currently(pre-patch) that are in space, will they disappear two hours after the end of downtime if they remain un-anchored?
Second question: What are the reqs for the anchoring skill?

Well i think they are still balancing anchoring as it currently has NO reqs on chaos.

Patch notes: 1199 Secure cargo containers are now only secure when anchored in space.
1200 Unanchored secure cargo containers now expire in two hours.
1203 Anchoring skill has been added to the NPC market, it can be found at all stations belonging to corporations where new players begin at.
So this doesnŠt apply to this TQ patch and is only for Chaos testing right now?

I have posted this several times already in various places in the forums, but:
Only newly launched or newly unanchored secure cargo containers will have the two hour lifetime. Existing ones will have their old lifetime.
So, just to be clear, the patch is not going to result in all the existing secure cargo containers in space imploding after two hours. They will last as long as they used to. -- Richard CCP Programmer. Anything said above is not the official line, but my own take or opinion. |

ie, we still have to deal with all those littered cans through space...
Would be great if all cans that are 'just there' now to mysteriously disappear.

Yea - but for live, what about giving the old ones a week or something? The "Noobs" sign in Amaar made out of cargo containers looks great, but we have this flotsam a space jetsum al over the place.. time for a cleanup? :)

1) 8 med smartbombs, 4 cap rechargers, 7 cap power relays on a megathron 2) Get in position for at least 3 cans (4km range) 3) Set the smartbombs to autorepeat, activate them 4) Make a prayer that noone is evil enough to get close enough (hint: CONCORD) 5) Go to sleep 6) Rinse & repeat every night until they're gone.

Thanks for the quick reply Richard! I must have missed your posts about this, appreciate a quick dev response to a less than observant forum browser =)

Yes, but from what i understand they will no longer be secure unless they are anchored. I think i will have a bunch of new secure cans when this patch goes thru if this is true.

It was indeed said in the same post as the one mentioned above that ALL unanchored secure containers wont be secure, including old ones. The old ones are only an exception to the 2 hour rule, and nothing else.
