The Munnin is about 110 mil and the Vaga about 150-180 mil in empire at the moment of writing this. The insurance payout for these are around 20-30 mil. Surely, an insurance system based on percentage of average going rate is easy to implement?? This needs to be fixed!

The problem with doing that is it will mean that losing a HAC will be no big deal, thus increasing demand for them, thus increasing the price of the ship and its insurance.

Not to mention that it opens the system to a unique type of scamming.

Easily implemented and abused. Say, I sell 10 times 50 Deimos to my alt at 10B each. I pay big taxes, but now the average price is high -> I get ultra rich for nothing by blasting those ships.
And you can get better insurance percentage; buy a BPO, and you'll get good percentage of your manufacturing costs from the insurance.

It can be abused in multiple ways. Not going to happen. -------------------- Do you have a solution to the BM and instas problem? Test it against the bookmark requirements. |

Well id say make the System look at current market value. As it does in RL. Add you Deductable.
Take the cheapest for sale in the market At that Time its insured. And make that the payout Minus deductable. Market being the Lowest cost of that ship within somany jumps.

Only fly what you can afford to lose.
That's all.
HAC's are that expensive only because there are both people selling them for the price and people actually paying those prices.
Insurance payout is based on actual (base) value.
To be honest, I like the system, although I neither produce, not sell them.
