First off I didn't even know there were such things as corp wars, that's pretty cool. Aparently some long time players have declared war on our newbie corp though, and we don't quite understand what's going on completely. If they declare war on us they can attack us without penalty anywhere 24hrs after. Do we have to declare war in return or are we allowed to attack back as well? |

No, you don't need to return the declaration.
Once the 24-hour notifcation period is up, it's free-for-all. 
Either side will be able to initiate combat without fear of Concord intervention. You don't need to wait for them to take the first shot.
Go get 'em.

Don't make it a mutual war, cos then it don't cost em anything. War deccing costs money.......
Stay in cheap frigs and stay in groups, watch local, set your standings to their corps as terrible (so they flash flash flash in overview).Addtheir names to address book as you come accross them.(so they have a green square in local-easy to spot, and their icon appears in right of screen as they log)
Talk to any friendlies you know for tips and hints.
Never pay.
better to leave corps if things get that bad, you'll be back in a npc corps.Safe.

They are asking 50mil.
Their corp has 2 members that have only been around for a year. Our corp has 5 or 6 times that but we have only been around roughly 4mo. We figure there's power in numbers at least. And with there being only 2 of them I seriously doubt they will harass us much if at all. |

If there are only two people then you might have problems. They aren't big enough to cause much harm but can still be a pain in the ass to deal with. Infact the second guy in the corp is likely the CEO's alt. The problem with corps at this size is that it can be very difficult to hurt them and they will usually have the initiative.
I'd go about with business as usual and not bother chasing them. Just keep an eye on local, add the CEO and his cohort to your friends list and don't AFK travel too much. Agents that can locate people should be put to use. Keep an eye on the wardeccing corp to make sure it doesn't suddenly inflate its corp member count to ten or whatever but if they are only asking for fifty million ISK I don't think that will happen.

Hi Lazy 8,
Stcik with your corpmates togeither and kick their ass, dont leave your corp or give them any money. Buy a few frigates each , train a few missiles skills, tracking disruptor , and remote sensor dampener skills and you're set.
With 7 or 8 frigates, you can take down a lot of ships, you will kill any cruisers very very quickly, even BC.If they use turrets ships, set 2 or 3 tracking disruptors on a frig, then they will have trouble to hit you. They use missiles boat, use sensor dampener, there is plenty of things you can do, just use your imagination.
Its not the skills points that count, its the motivation behind. You re 4 months old, you have enough game knowledge to bust them out, dont let them intimidate you.
Even if they use HAC , you can kill them, just use EW, bring 1 or 2 cruisers, and throw into the fight all you can, they will go down.
