Actually I think many'd be pressed to find Europe... 7 times I've been to the States, and 5 of those times I've been asked to 'talk British' to someone. No, I am not joking.

Edited by: James Kagawa on 17/09/2003 14:29:55 Yes, all Americans are ignorant, all Americans lump you Euros into the same categories. Apparently, Europeans are all generalizing gits who lump people together based on nationality too. Not to mention, feel like being rude jackasses to people simply because of thier nationality. *RING RING* "Hello Pot? Yeah, this is Kettle. You're black!"
Man, thank god I'm not from Earth. Cause humans /all/ suck.
Edit: Btw, maybe we're not familiar with /all/ European countries because they're in some cases the size of our smaller states, or in some best cases are county sized. When you can cross through 2 countries in 2 hours via train, it gets a little confusing to us. Considering it takes days to get across some of our states via automobile or via train. Quote: There is a link on slashdot.org today that will end all argument over who has the crappiest net.
And its the US by a LONG WAY!!!
Only ex russian countries have poorer take-up and speeds than the US.
Argument over -*****y yanks get it handed to them again :P
At least it wasnt by one of your own for once - friendly fire dont exist on the net :P
Note, my comment was NOT on who has a faster speed, but what gaming community has the better average speed, which would be the US, otherwise why would you have european companies still catering mostly to 36k users.
UK is A-OK, them and most scandinavian countries, its the other slow folks (italy, where I lived 18 of my happiest years... and others)
Nothing personal, jeez, you guys are high-sprung, go to amsterdam and do some legal relaxants, that is still one thing you have over the US... oh that and tons of Italian art and architecture that France has stolen through the ages....

I really tend not to *****, But to be honest this is starting to take the ****, I pay for a service (Subscription), and to be honest i`m not getting it. Yes i can understand that things can take longer then usual, but not 5 hours. I would understand much better if i was told "Hey listen we have implameented the new patch, and everything has gone **** up with the modules section of things, so it's going take a while to sort it out", Furry Muff !! But instead they just post EXTENDED>EXTENDED> Etc.. Please CCP, I know your busy, but the more information given the less *****ing people can do.

What's your rub? I'm a US Citizen and I'm hard pressed to find Ohio. It's not about being ego-centric or anything. It's just been 20 years since I had a geography class. But prior to leaving high school in order to pass Social Studies (went to private school and all courses were required to pass), I had to fill in a blank map of just the outline of the continents with the countries, their capitals, major rivers, major mountain ranges, major seas and major lakes. Bonus points awarded for adding information such as major imports/exports, currency, and current political leaders.
I'm a Texan. There's Texas, Louisiana (for gambling), Mexico (for partying) and then all the rest of that dat land that'd be mighty fine for cattle. 20 years of booze, babes and blackjack will make ya forget a few things

Actually, to a certain degree, you're right. You could've said it a little nicer though :)
Everyone has stereotypes and they ***** about each other in generalities. Its an age-old argument. And I'll admit its pretty tiresome.
The reason why many of the Europeans go on about the U.S. that way is that you are part of one nation, whereas we in Europe are not, and thats why we hate being generalised as 'euros' or similar.
Anyway, I'm going to leave the argument there, its nothing to do with the thread and its just causing more angst. I hope you'll join me.

Ok, I wish that Europe got off their pedistall, which is old and decrepit, and that the US stopped being so damn arrogant in its bigotry.
We could achieve so much more working TOGETHER.
(the above statement is intended overall, I know here you are all open-minded illuminati )
ps. I am aware of how hypocritical this sound being that I was *****ing about the european connections in the first place.

Final parting shot based on this post. I generalize all the time. My life is ruled by the generalizations I make.
There are people I Like
There are people I Don't Like
The actions you take decide what generalization you end up in.

I'm disabled, in UK, on most of the day...am I one of the lazy gits? Or just a drain on the economy? 4 hours of reading your drivel is enough for me thanks
No intention to offend there Annoing, many apologies.
I just find it hard to understand some people who moan they can't play during extra downtime, when there are many people out there who'd be more than happy to play in the day time at all.
Thank you for pointing out the risk of generalising, as I said, apologies.
As for 4 hours of drivel, well, i've posted 2 items (now 3 with this) on the forums in the entire day - week even, so Im hoping that you're not taking 4 hours to read it. -- Britannia Futures

Actually, sorry to break it to you but size DOES matter, of course, if the size is there without technique, its like owning a ferrari and not knowing how to drive stickshift.
