R31D	Posted - 2006.04.16 10:26:00 - [6] You have to be a dev to get a Jovian portrait. It's no different to normal character (attributes might be cool though). If someone does give you the opportunity to become Jove, I'd say do it Free bumpage for all

They are far more advanced, and more powerful. Things like Gist shield boosters are OLD jove technology, so just think of what the normal jove mods are like now. Then think of what their T2 items would be like. Jove being a normal playable race would be totaly *, unless they suffered realdeath, and were the only ones who could use jove ships/mods maybe. Edit: jove tech is closer to like T6 or T5 then T3, their frigs fit jump drives for pete's sake EDIT: Jove tech I believe is more like T6 then T3. since a jove frig can fit a jump drive.... -------------- Be careful you have just entered Terrorbear stomping grounds....

I have ships with jump drives but I can not get there with out someone already being there allowing me to 'gang' with them and they produce a field for me to jump too - I think it would be a good story line and a lot of fun for there to be a portal/wormwhole or something that appeared from time to time that allowed access into Jovian space. This being in place anyone that had a sec status lower that 5 would be shot at - as the older Jovians are 'known' to be peaceful thinkers. Think of the size of the fleet wars. We amass in numbers of 100's agains 30 of them and they keep wiping us out losing all out costly gear. Unable to dock at their stations having to set up POS's and make our own stations. That would take a while with them hitting us back. The (the Jovians) would be able to send 'small' numbers of ships to 'gank' those minig to suppor tthe fleets invading Jovian space. This is something that would be a real Isk sink and turn every thing on it's side. The Amarr got to them before when the gates were up - there has to be a way. - Feel Free to start Convo - but I ever read my mail...

I think I have screenshots of the attributes screen on it as well, talk about some insane numbers. And yes, it had almost no slots at all, but didn't really need them going by the stats. The rumor about Jove space I believe is also true, but not since open beta when it was fixed. I didn't get a chance to do it before it got nerved unfortunately. Apparently you could jump-clone into Jove space but couldn't do anything once you got there other than fly around in a pod since nothing was available to buy or fly. They also fixed the skills so that you can't fly Jove ships either. Initially they didn't require any special skills to fly, until a GM left a ship unpiloted for a short time and it got stolen.
