Hello everyone!
CCP Sledgehammer here to update all you lovely capsuleers on the wonderful new sights coming to you in Rubicon 1.3, courtesy of the best graphics team around, Team TriLambda.
- To kick things off, we have completed our V3 work on all asteroids! All asteroids (ice included) have been renovated for Shader Model 3 and are in client now, we'd love to hear your feedback on how they look at your end.
- Territorial Claim Units have been V3'd! They correctly display alliance logos, have activation animations and rotate again.
- Redesigned Tristan! Everyone's favourite Fat Man has a new sleeker look and has been increased in size to make it comparable to it's T2 variant, the Nemesis.
- Linear Lighting! We have implemented our first pass of Linear Lighting on ships. This shows up detail better as well as an increased richness of colour. As it stands, certain users may perceive ships to be darker. We'd like to emphasize that this first implementation of linear lighting is the first step in overhauling our lighting system and this darkening is an issue that we are actively seeking to resolve with further improvements to the lighting system and thus should be treated as a temporary change. Despite this, we would really like to hear about any ships that you consider to be too dark so please post here or submit a bug report.
We have more features to disclose, coming up soon! Stay tuned to this thread for updates.
If you see any issues with these changes please report them in this thread and/or submit a bug report using our in-game bug reporter, accessible from the F12 menu.

Marcel Devereux wrote:The Tristan looks awesome! I do have one critique though. Can you either add back in the other arm or remove the right one? It looks pretty sleek until expect for the right side.
you want to remove the bridge, how do you control the ship without a bridge? 3D Artist |

Nice to see it finally happening! I was able to pop on the server for a brief moment last night. I noticed that station hangars appear foggy and muted with the initial pass. Obviously a bug.
Yeah, we caught that and are about to test the fix for it. Graphical QA Analyst | EVE Quality Assurance | Team TriLambda |

POCOS at first planets still have the lighter/shinier side toward the planet. planet 1 in 6-c should have a lot more light sun side then it does now.
Is the in space rendering different now then in the hanger now or are they running the same tech now?
Moa looked okay the space camouflage like on the navy scorp looks bad however.
Thanks for the heads up! There are still differences in tech between space and hangar scenes but the lighting has some crossover. Graphical QA Analyst | EVE Quality Assurance | Team TriLambda |

Hi all,
We are in the process of dealing with each ship on a case by case basis. We have fixed Carthum Conglomerate ships and are looking at the issues related to the Tengu and Amarr ships in general. Please submit a bug report if you feel that your ship is now unacceptably different.
Regarding drone bays on the Algos and other ships: Are people experiencing this on a Mac or PC? We are looking in to the causes on the Mac but have not seen this on the PC client.
Capt Saber: The only time we've seen the issue that you have reported is when the user is running legacy hardware. In your instance are you running an ATI Radeon X1000 family card or similarly aged piece of Hardware?
Thanks all for your continuing patience and support,
Sledgehammer. Graphical QA Analyst | EVE Quality Assurance | Team TriLambda |

The Tengu looks best in the darker (reflective) metallic greys as opposed to the greyish-white (flat) color in the majority of configurations. Thanks for the tweaks to the weapon turrets - greatly appreciated! Quote:Regarding drone bays on the Algos and other ships: Are people experiencing this on a Mac or PC? Both in preview and in-game. Quote:Capt Saber: The only time we've seen the issue that you have reported is when the user is running legacy hardware. In your instance are you running an ATI Radeon X1000 family card or similarly aged piece of Hardware? I have two setups: Nividia GeForce 320M and ATI Radeon HD 5770 - the missing drone bays are present on both.
Missing Drone Bays and Fields are problems on the Mac only as far as we are aware and we are actively researching fixes for it.
Regarding my statement on legacy hardware, we were getting some reports of ships being entirely blue on old ATI hardware.
