WOW!!! I lost ALL agility in my Dominix BS.
I spent a week tweaking and fitting different mods to get optimized agility... I perfected it to great results, Amazing results!
I read somewhere that agility was getting looked into for this patch and I thought great maybe I can get some decent agility with less then 4 mods...
I tried out my Dom with my recent set up, results: watching my BS turn was like watching paint dry. I took off all my nanofibers and agility mods and tried it, results: turning was still like watching paint dry. So I tried one 12.5% agility mod, result: same. Tried 2, result: same. Tried 3 and 4, result: SAME
With all 7 lowest slots filled with all agility mods rarest in the game I tried to turn around and it was like molassess!
Unless I aim out into space with nothing to bump into I will never see top speed...

Nanos were hit with the nerf bat. They have practically *no* effect ATM - even to frigs. Exept the speed, that is.
At least it was when I tested them on chaos a few days ago, must do it again now - but I doubt it has changed.

Nerf?? LOL it took me 706 km's to reach TOP speed with SEVEN nanofibers Local Hull Nanofibers at that.
Just in case you think that was a typo that number was 706 KM's not meters but kilometers!

Yea it's a bit ridiculous now. Sure my zero-mass uber agility config that let me accelerate to max speed instantly, change direction instantly, etc was a bit too good, but now... Cool man, seems I spent 1 to 2 mil per local hull nanofiber to have them nerfed into oblivion!

All what nanos are giving you is the speed bonus ATM - and overdrives of similar rarity give you more.
Another modul made useless - exept it get's fixed sometime to actually give some bonus? Please?

"All what nanos are giving you is the speed bonus ATM - and overdrives of similar rarity give you more."
... But on the other hand the overdrives take away a noticeable percentage of your cargo bay (while nanofiber modules reduce structure hp) non?.. So it's not straight 'overdrives are always the option' choice....

That's true - in fact rare nanos give a bonus to cargo. Nanos are good for indy which want to get faster without loosing cargo.
But the agility bonus they give is nonexistant now - they could as well remove it alltogether.

aye noticed that - not chronic though. On the Upside the Blackbird now twists and turns quite happily.
Were these particular changes documented anywhere?

Just get a hoarder, 6500 cargo with 3 partial hull expanders and with 3 cold gas it gets from 0-360m/s ish in about 4-5 seconds, turns on a dime and only needs lvl 2 skill
I love my hoarder

Perhaps I'm missing something, but isn't a battleship supposed to be a great lubering behemoth? Take the RL seafaring ship agility for example, how long does it take a real battleship to turn around compared to a frigate or cruiser? Seems to me that a lot of you think that because a battleship costs more it should be better in ALL respects which is complete and utter ****.

Umm you are missing this whole agility topic all together....
I sacrifice 4 lower slots to customize my ship to respond with decent agility, and 4 lower slots IS a huge sacrifice.
I spent millions in ISK and hours and hours hunting for my rarest mods in the game, and millions and millions of ISK and hours and timesink hours IS a huge sacrifice. I spent hours tweaking and learning to optimize my BS so it would move.
That is customization of a Hulk of crap that won't move.
As for your analogy of pure hunks of tons of steel being dragged through water being pushed down by massive gravity againts the latest technology metals in weightless space, you make no sense, at least, to me...

Well i dont think BBs should be agile at all. Yes i feel sorry for you, because you have sunk so many hours into customization.......but 100ton of metal are just that.......they wont move fast or agile at all.......in space top speed isnt really a definite, but agility is......youd need massive amounts of engines to achieve that......leaving you with upgraded fri/cruiser weaponry.....

These modes change my "100ton of metal" into cruiser like properties...
Quote: Replaces some of the heavier structure components with lighter, but more fragile material. Improves speed and agility at the expense of hull strength.
HP 20
Speed bonus 21 m/sec
Cargo cap bonus 8%
Structure HP bonus -8.2
Agility bonus -0.35
If they don't, they need to be taken out of the game totally or renamed to "Useless Mini Cargo Expanders"
With out adding agility back into the game is essentially adding a huge unneccessary timesink into an already huge time costing game.
I have already parked my BS's and am now having fun with cruisers and frigates anyhow. But their agility is not any good either...

My Armageddon has been spanked with the nerf bat too.
Now I am a slug no matter how many add on's I get, to turn to warp anything.
I used to be able to run rings around an apoc within 4 km (but I was spanked closing to that distance) now I can hardly make the jump gate

@Ekkai. Ka'loor: Indeed you are missing something. Namely: The agility bonus of nanofibers has as much effect on frigates and cruisers as on BS - none, nada, zip, zilch. They are -broken-.
Noone wants to have a BS with the agi of a frig - but if you use modules to enhance a ships agility it should have an effect, right?
Which it hasn't atm. Don't believe me? Fine, jsut try it yourself on chaos - equip a frig, cruiser ,bs with a 21 ms nanos (quite rare) and a 21 ms overdrive (quite common) setup and test them. You will see that they have 100% the same accelleration and orbiting speed with them.

Wha?
They got the Thorax???
I bought a little celestis so that I could play with missiles while being actually able to move around a little bit while doing missions. I put a buy order out on a Thorax for real movement later on... but if its as wack as the Dom!

Why o WHY was the mammoth altered in this way :-/ it had 2 good things compared to the bestower : Agility Accaleration thus good for collecting loot :) but now its worse on almost every front ( accept some HP ) but who cares about that :(
Please make my mammoth worthy a spin once more, i miss its properties. I know of amarr friends that trained for the mammoth because of this "bonus" but now ... it saddens me :(
Request : please return the mammoth and the badger II ( never flew it but seems like it also suffered ) to its former agility / accaleration cause this way even more ships will be abandoned :( guess i'm going to grab my hoarder once more ... since it seems less affected.
Sqalevon out.

Yes you missing something. If modules are in game they should have work. Actually all hull mods what should have effect on agility dhould really work on all ships. True about nanofibers is that effect doesn't work.
TomB or whoever did that stupid part you did bad job!

ek, kal, The point you're missing is that the agility bonus from skills and mods are MISSING.
Several people have tested this and each and everyone of these tests concludes that there is NO agility bonus's being applied.
If it takes me 32 seconds to pull a 180 with no mods and then takes me 32 seconds with 8 agility mods to pull the same maneuver then I can comfortably say that this is a BUG, not a what if of reality.
BTW in 'reality' space is frictionless, thus I would be able to flip around almost instantly yet still be moving in the same direction. Inertia is a different story, and nano-fibres are supposed to help with your 0-top speed as they lighten up your hull (remove pounds) so that your engines can accelerate faster.
Again currently, they provide NO added bonus to this acceleration and that IS a problem/bug.

I also notice that nanofibers have very little or no effect on agility.
I agree with other people that want to customize their ship for speed and agility rather than offensive power. ------------- RUS / RUA RUSSIAN Team

OK FLYER SIMPLE NAVIGATION TUTORIAL: a ship turns faster when accelerating, and crawls while turning as its losing speed. You want to turn fast? Kick on the mwd just before you approach target, and turn it off asap to avoid getting to much speed burst if you dont want it. Same principal applies to smaller ships with afterburners. But your main problem is that you are trying to make a GIANT ship lightwieght. Read the label on the box...works best on smaller ships. To be honest, if you dont get lazy with the mwd on auto you dont even need nanos for any other reason than adding a little cargo, top speed, and acceleration. Agility and Acceleration are not the same thing here. Neither is Acceleration and top speed. I use a combination of named nanos and overdrives to achieve more speed without losing cargo room. No complaints, tho i miss going like 70,000 m/s a few months ago in my dominix.

For the x-th time: I don't want to make a BS with the agility of a frig. The agi-bonus the nanos gave before they were broken was quite ridiculous. I was the one who actually notified TomB of that, btw.
But the problem is that they now give NO bonus to ANY ships - be it a frigate or a BS.
No what I want is to make a BS which can outmaneuver another BS because it has a better agility, quite similar like a truck with a steel frame is less agile than a truck with a aluminium one. Which is atm not possible since any agility mods have no effect.

Well, if that's the case it sounds like a pretty bad bug to me. I'm just moving up to Indys and Cruisers myself, so I haven't been able to try a BS yet, but I know that my Badger feels much better as it is now.
Love your name, btw Ana, I just finished Redemption Ark. Now if only we were allowed ship names long enough to use some of the names from Reynolds or Banks books...

There's alot of mis-information around here.
Although I agree that nanofibers don't produce anywhere near the bonous they used to, they still help.
Prior to the patch my Omen 1*ab,1*mwd, 5*nano would hit ~3k/s on a single pulse of both the ab and the mwd. After the patch this is reduced to ~1.2k/s. If I take the nanofibers off the ship I hit around 7-800m/s. Not much of a difference.. but it's there.
