Tier 4 High-level specialist ships Fleet Command frigate and Field Command Frigate: 99.5% reduction bonus to *one* Warfare Link module fitting, for frigate fleet ops Field Support Large powergrid and cap reduction, and range increase on Small Remote Armour Repairer, Small Energy Transfer, or Remote Shield Transfer modules (dependant on race)
A Command Ship should be at least Cruiser sized. It's just seems silly to think of such a small ship commanding a fleet.
Quote: Tier 3 Loadout Specialists: new designs that focus in on one of each race's focused weapon loadouts: ie, a 4-turret railboat for caldari, to mirror the kestrel's 4 launchers, or an Amarr ship with fitting bonuses solely for Pulse Laser weaponary, Minmatar ship types with ACbonuse, and others with artillery bonus.
Is this supposed to be frigate-sized? Otherwise, wouldn't the bonuses for the individual ships cater towards the races' specialities anyway?
Quote: Tier 2: Specialist profession ships. Salvage Barge: slow, large cargo, big bonuses to salvage mods. Model which has cutters, drills, arc-welding attachments etc. Archaeological Surveyor: scanner bonuses, models with lots of lights, access hatches and prehensile tools for picking through ruins Comet/Gas Miners - fast, to keep up with moving comets and mine from them, Models with big engines and large scoops to collect the stuff, and inbuilt micro-refinery to give a compression bonus to for gases when stored in an otherwise normal sized cargo hold
I like all of these, but if the Comet/Gas Miner is going to be that fast, it would have to have a large sig radius to compensate. Play it off as having a large energy signature due to the engine size.
Quote: Tier 1: one new model for each race, as a first step up from noobships. 3 hi slot, 1/1 or 2/0 turret/missile, 2mid, 2 low slot, no more PG or CPU than newbships, but fitting bonuses to "basic" and "civillian" modules.
I'd also like to see civillian tier 1 ships, solely because it'd really add atmosphere to the game to be able to populate the systems with such things, or even buy a ship similar in style to Voogru's gallente Opus Yacht.
Civillian Passenger Transport: c.200m3 cargo, fitting of one highslot turret, 2mids, 2 lows. only able to use civillian systems.
Interbus Small Container Hauler: 100m/s top speed, c 1000m3 cargo, no high slots, 1 mid or low slot.
Gallente luxury Cutter large glass windows, with a small garden with a shrubbery with a water features and a 2-tier effect with a path inside (a paaath! ) inside, chrome and black, clearly from the same design stable as the Opus yacht.
Caldari CEO's Company Yacht traditional caldari asthetics, a large bridge for the CEO to work from, with corporate logos on it, perhaps?
Holder's Ancestral Corvette Imagine a mobile chapel, the hull covered in devotional prayers to the Emperor, the spires of the chapel that takes up half the interior rising out of the golden hull...
Tribal Elder's sloop could be interesting too, as the minmatar design ethos becomes more advanced, and moves from junkyard scrap to the sleeker, technological style seen in the Hel, and tier3BS designs.
That's my 1groat's worth of idea, at least. I'll shut up now.
I really like this idea for some reason. However, other than the turrets, there are only four civ modules, an armor rep, a shield boost, an AB, and a cargo expander. Two Meds and two Lows. All your civ ships should have no more than one slot in any of the fitting levels.
