Hi,
My friend has a Navy Raven, almost full crystal implants, and a gistii x tank. He could tank my Absolution which had conflags equipped and my brother's Geddon which had a full damage setup, both at the same time, for quite a while.
I don't have the exact numbers, but the bottom line is a gistii x shield tank with crystal implants is crazy. I just am wondering how a corpum tank with slave implants matches up?
Fights are usually pretty short, so I figure if you have an apoc (or navy apoc for an even comparison) with tens of thousands of points of armor and uber resists with a decent rep, chances of surviving are just jim dandy. I am just asking the folks with more experience which type of tank is the true king?
Thank you

Faction shield boosters + amps are way better then faction armor reppers.
And the shield tankers get to have awsome crystals implants on top. Its not fair and unbalanced.

the only time you should be using those implants and uber mods in pvp are on dreads anyway, so doesn't really matter in most engagements anyway

you say it doesnt matter, but why do you think caldari are the most nourmous in the game. shield tanking while doing good damage and weapons not useing cap means tehy are best at npcing and there are many more times NPCers than PVPers

true, the raven is still the ultimate npcing ship because of this, but tbh as long as i can do even the hardest 0.0 angel spawns solo in my apoc i don't care if the raven can do it 5% faster... atleast i know my skill and ship are also applicable to almost any pvp situation, wich you can't really say about missile boats

yea and dont forget that caldari stuff is way more expensive, so it may be better but there are way less ppl using these items and implants for pvp.
i see MANY zealots, deamos and various Command ships with uber nice loot too, mainly because they can afford to loose it. A full crystal set will set you bak well over a billion isk before you even think about a navy raven and mods.
