Have been getting Socket closed issues when logging in for three days now, mildly frustrating to say the least.

Finland (atleast my area) was totally blacked out from Eve for 3 days. PingPlotter tool showed that the route in net was totally broken, probably related to DDOS attack earlier. Basically all symptoms are related to those things, some areas had partial connectivity - and if you could not connect to Eve you couldnt connect to forums (that means: Send messages / information towards eve servers).
Seems like Eve client nor Eve Launcher does not handle broken connections gracefully. If these kind of errors were handled gracefully and for example error message would give link to for example that PingPlotter tool and FAQ much customer frustration could be avoided and people could find out what the problem is even when blocked from the services. (PP showed 72 hours of destination unreachble so it was obivious it was connection issue along the route and once that blockage was rooted out it would work like it should be). |

East Tennesse here, even the laucher has been acting crazy, have to spam "Log in" to even get it to work, black screeen connection lost, socket was closed, and maybe finally after several attempts finally get in on one account 'Sad " |

About the same problem here. Log in, black screen, then socket closed etc. After a couple of tries I usually get in.

Suggestion that worked for me...go through and empty the mailboxes on all your chars. I had the same login black-screens and launcher issues. Since I've done that, things have ran pretty smoothly.
The risk of having your day ruined by other people is the cornerstone with which EVE was built and we want to keep that (infact, this is much more representative of the consensus opinion within CCP). |

Generally I can log in but after a while I get booted and get a "socket closed" message.
I was playing a while back, a week or more, and would get booted once an hour.

Same here. Log in, takes a while to respond to auth check, then get past character selection and it drops connection. 3 or 4 attempts required.
Log in 2nd charcter, same as above, sometimes the 1st character gets disconnected as well.
Painfully annoying.

Texas, USA here. Same as you, performed wonderfully until last week's supposed DDoS. Now it still works better than some of you poor souls, but I'll still get kicked out from socket errors maybe every 20 minutes or so (and depends on time of day). |
