Until the DOS attack on 2/28, Eve has been performing fantastic.
However, since then, I get sporadic "Socket Closed" or "Server Delayed".
This is the second day where I can't log in early, get access for a bit late morning, then can't get back in.
Like up if you are having the same issues. Note where at (generally).
East Coast, US.

update: logging into that character on eve gate and deleting all my mail seems to have fixed it? |

east coast us, sporadic log in issues along with random log off's once in. appears to coincide with difficulty viewing the forum online

Wisconsin US here, happens to some accounts and not others randomly. Usually restart computer and it it seems to help but not sure if it's just coincidental |

Same problem. Sporadic inability to log in.
On this character specifically, I cannot look at anyone's character profile, or attempt to use the "people and places" tab without it causing the socket to close and kick me out of the game. Attempting to use the market and/or the map does this too, but not as consistently.
This has been infuriating, and I have been losing skillpoints as a result on several of my accounts.

Having problems here as well the last couple days.
Can play 2 accounts on same computer for a while, then suddenly the one get a socket error and sometimes have issues getting back on, while the online account works without delays or problems.
Not always the same account that gets the boot.

I can't even log in about half the time, and now not at all on one of my accounts. I can get to the character selection screen and attempt to sign in.. only to be socket closed back to nothing again. Please fix this, it's highly frustrating.

Actually, the server is located in London.
Maybe the guy who's idea it was to DDoS us this time made an account, undocked, and got ganked on his first day.

central EU, also having issues for the last 2 days.
What worked for me:
-try logging in with another char
-open eve twice (if launcher is not responding, just open the exefile) and log in in the 2nd client screen
Not worth a dev tag is it ? |

I've had socket closed upon log in for the last 3 days or so. W/ launcher and without makes no difference. East Coast US if that helps. |

And I thought this was just my internet connection.
All weekend on both of my accounts Log into character select fine. When I select a character goes to black screen for about a minute then socket closed. Takes about half a dozen attempts before I can actually get in game only to randomly disconnect at some point and have to go through the whole process again.
Haven't even been able to log into my second account at all, and running more then one account at a time is completely out of the question.
This started happening Friday afternoon around noon EST.
Location US-New Jersey.
Please fix. |

Same issuses here, from time to time socket on one or more clients dc`s.
takes 4-5 mins before able to log the dc`d client back in.
Not a big problem, but it`s annoying. |

Getting socket closed between character selection and loading in station as well. Whether through the launcher or exe file sometimes I get in no worries other times it's to bad so sad. |

Finland (atleast my area) was totally blacked out from Eve for 3 days. PingPlotter tool showed that the route in net was totally broken, probably related to DDOS attack earlier. Basically all symptoms are related to those things, some areas had partial connectivity - and if you could not connect to Eve you couldnt connect to forums (that means: Send messages / information towards eve servers).
Seems like Eve client nor Eve Launcher does not handle broken connections gracefully. If these kind of errors were handled gracefully and for example error message would give link to for example that PingPlotter tool and FAQ much customer frustration could be avoided and people could find out what the problem is even when blocked from the services. (PP showed 72 hours of destination unreachble so it was obivious it was connection issue along the route and once that blockage was rooted out it would work like it should be). |

Suggestion that worked for me...go through and empty the mailboxes on all your chars. I had the same login black-screens and launcher issues. Since I've done that, things have ran pretty smoothly.
The risk of having your day ruined by other people is the cornerstone with which EVE was built and we want to keep that (infact, this is much more representative of the consensus opinion within CCP). |

Generally I can log in but after a while I get booted and get a "socket closed" message.
I was playing a while back, a week or more, and would get booted once an hour.

Same here. Log in, takes a while to respond to auth check, then get past character selection and it drops connection. 3 or 4 attempts required.
Log in 2nd charcter, same as above, sometimes the 1st character gets disconnected as well.
Painfully annoying.

Texas, USA here. Same as you, performed wonderfully until last week's supposed DDoS. Now it still works better than some of you poor souls, but I'll still get kicked out from socket errors maybe every 20 minutes or so (and depends on time of day). |
