So basically you've got, like, maybe 5-10% of FW people actually playing FW and the remainder are LP leechers who just bot-plex for the already winning side for ISK.
Which means that the actual FW players are just wasting their time, because the real FW game is being ruled by unstoppable hordes of fickle mercenaries that are only in it for the free ISK and who's loyalties are non-existent.
None of which surprises anyone. The only question is: Did CCP honestly believe that this is not exactly what would end up happening?
You cannot bait the EvE playerbase into doing anything that they don't want to, and what they obviously want is to make lots of ISK with zero risk. In hisec we call it, well, hisec. In nullsec we call it "blue donut" and in FW well call them plexers. I think the only people still taking any risks in this game are the losec pirates and the WH dwellers: The former because they actually enjoy doing something other than watching the number on their wallet move upwards, and the latter because the ISK is just too insanely high to pass up.

I have 3 accounts to purchase plex for, I am a student with very little money or job prospects, so paying for eve online is out of the question unless I ask grandma not to buy diabetic medication that month. Being able to make isk is important if I want to continue playing the game, so every month I need close to 2 billion isk to buy plex.
I guess after I make the isk to pay for my accounts, I have time to lose tons of isk throwing ships at pirates like some kind of mongoloid ****** masochist.

Most LP is cashed out removing 1k ISK per LP from the economy, this is less than the ISK introduced from mission rewards + time bonuses.

Actually - they are not far off.
At tier 4 you pull in about 40-60k LP per L4 mission, and there's 10-15 mission agents available per run. Figure you can get one run in in 3 hrs (tight but doable - 30 mins to collect them in an Inty and 2.5 hrs to run them in a SB); that's about an average of 600M ISK equivalent per day.
So, ~4B per week.
People usually figure 200M ISK/hr running FW missions in my experience.
And that's in a ~40M ISK fit SB.
There's other variance there (the agents don't always have kill missions, etc) but there is no denying it is a money pinata.
(disclaimer, I never actually ran them at that efficiency myself - I didn't have SB skills at the time so could only make about 50-100M/hr doing them in other ships - but I know lots of people that did) |
