that setups great, until they warp off, then it sucks :/
also would use excessive ammo v npc.

I know it fits with help of cpu II on lowslot and xl c5 booster. Oh and web instead of boost amp. And t2 guns ofc.

A typical Autocannon Tempest setup will rely on armor-tanking rather than shield tanking due to the need for at least a webber and AB.
Highs:
6x 800mm 'Scout' Autocannon I
2x Heavy Diminishing Nosferatu I
Mids:
1x 100MN AB II
1x Warp Disruptor
1x Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor
2x Multispec II
Lows:
2x Large 'Accomodation' Armor Repairer I
1x Armor Explosive Hardener II
1x Armor Kinetic Hardener II
1x Armor Thermic Hardener II
1x Gyrostabilizer II
This is roughly the setup I occasionally use. There may be some fitting constraints that require more named stuff but this setup combined fantastic firepower with excellent defenses and speed. A lot of fun to fly.

well it requires webby & ab.. and has 3 slots to play with
Thing is that shield tanked tempest does nasty WTF damage compared to armor tank. And it has slots to fit H4X modules.
Oh a dual LAR setup without injector... method call Install_selfdestruct_button successful.

I've tried the shield tanking thang on a tempie and machariel for that matter and tbh it's underwhelming. Stick with armor tanking.

Tempest shield tank isn't much of a tank at all. I'd only use it if you have a few good tacklers and some other possible primaries in your gang. If you start getting hit by a couple BSes or 1 BS and a couple cruisers, shield tempest won't last worth a damn unless those targets happen to go down fast. An armor tanked tempest is really 7 slots - 6 lows + mid cap booster. Shield tanking tempest is 3 mids + cap booster, since you need AB/MWD. In other words, pretty ****-poor tank.

Don't listen to these people. If you're in a gang you can shield tank or armour depending on your preference. Solo you have to armour.
In a gang, you don't really need that AB/MWD, especially with t2 autos and barrage. That leaves you with XL boost/boost amp/2x invuln II/electrochem
Then you can fit 3 gyro, likely a co-proc (or two depending what you use) and a dcm.
Stronger tank + gank than armour setup, however of course you sacrifice the EW.
