Incorrect, it is only part of ccps' planned anti-lag measures - next step is ALOT of client optimisation.

Remember we are still operating 32 bit code on 64bit servers.
Or something like that.

also,. there are certain things you can do on a jump in to intensify the lag to a extremely short intense burst of it instead of a prolonged lag monster, but i missed this fight so i dont know exactly what happened.

Is anyone playing this game on 64bit and seeing improvements, or is the lag totally ccp's crappy setup. I mean the lag of last night makes me start to avoid fleet battles, smth I love being in. Never ever have I seen smth like this before. Praeludium to success |

It's swings and roundabouts tho, sometimes we get massive lag, sometimes we don't.
Some of your guys didn't get any lag, some of ours got lots.
/me shrugs.
It's a vast improvement over pre-upgrade though, ime.

Indeed, that would have locked up the system for upto 20-30 mins and maybe taken the node down pre-upgrade.

Wasnt too bad for me, was no more than 7-8 seconds lag at worst points.
Does "not to bad" and "7-8 seconds lag" strike anyone else as wrong? *prods CCP's servers*
Oh well, if they can change to 64-bit code...

What do u mean background colors and use tags?
On your overview settings, u can customise whether they flash red etc (the actual targetting boxes).
Having this option set to flash, particularly, causes horrible graphics lag.
Thanks, I did this and the other things - it indeed helped

The non-client side lag is created by the network code giving u informations when jumping / warping in to a battle and CCP have allready said that they are working on it.

Just to clarify the reason people are complaining about the lag in this particular battle is because for over half our fleet they did not have any enemies at all on their overview or on screen until they were right ontop of our BS's. Rather frusterating when you don't even see the enemy uncloak, and POW there they are in a perfect position!
