Move them to high slots and you will see allot of changes when it comes to wcs and pvp. Sure you can put 1-2 on in those extra none used slots but anymore and you have to give up fire power. And we all know how much we like firepower...

Yep, less people willing to PvP, and a LOT less people willing to move haulers in unsecure space.

Yep, less people willing to PvP, and a LOT less people willing to move haulers in unsecure space.
the people who go out to find pvp currently will do so more knowing some of their prey wount get away becase of stabs
the people who now get attacked by pvpers are ratter/miners/agent runners/tracvilers and why would they stop doing their things if stabs where nerfed?
and moving stabs to high slot has merits: but also its downfalls perhaps mid slot WCS, then haulers will be even better off, able to use wcs and cargo expanders at the same time, which doesnt boter me. the expanders give u more time to kill them before tehy warp! and off the top of my head there isnt a pvp ship i can think of that wount be serverly gimped!

I don't neccessatily agree, but if that's true it further reduces the number of less dedicated people who will enter 0.0. So it's even MORE counterproductive.
Why would they stop? Because they're losing ISK.
And yes, midslot ones are just another generic "remove WCS from combat ships" idea with all of the drawbacks.

Honestly, if you can't keep your prey from warping out, you either need to start considering that a victory, or actually bother learning some tactics and getting a decent wingman to support you.
I agree a 110%. I get missions sometime to .4, all I want to do is get in and out as fast and as safe as possible. I'm not attacking anyone, I do not want to even be in low sec space long enough to have an engament with someone, so yeah WCS all the way.
If CCP nerfs WCS alot more harm than good will happen in EVE. Then again I guess that's what a lot of people want.

O rly, defender missiles, like they work
Smartbombs pwn missiles pretty well...
If you're lucky enough to fit someone who fires their missiles in giant blobs, you can wipe out their full DPS with well timed bombings.
Yes, in a completely lag free environment. (riiight) And if they don't slightly stagger their missile fire. (player skill)
Funny, I didn't notice much lag today except in the hub systems, and if you'd read a post completely, you'd see I excluded the stagger when I said they'd fire in a single blob (because some people will do this after being used to turrets).
Besides, Its not like you wouldn't have a few seconds to take out torps coming at you.
Nor does it change the fact that missiles can be countered, and the point of my post wwas a reply to the OP stating they could be. I didn't say it's easy did I?
So many people want point-defense and easy-to-use AEGIS-level anti-missile defense, depsite such a thing being the death of missiles in pvp. I'd have no problem seeing a T2 ship come out with anti-missile defense in mind, special turrets that fire automatically when missiles come in range and aren't fired by a gang/corp member, but they'd need to go down as easily as a webbed interdictor.

Did you know that saying came from older times when familes would share the bath water, with the man of the house first, then sons, wife, daughters, then babies, and the water could be so dirty you could lose a child in it, hence the term...

What is more detrimental to pvp, is it..
a) Warp core stabilizer b) Blob
Enough with stab whines, they aint broke and they dont need fixing, Ive said it in other posts and i'll say it again..
I have no problem fitting them or with people using them, some ships i will fit them to because i believe they cant utilise the low slots with a mod that would do them any favours other than a wcs, some ships i wont fit them to because i believe that the low slot is better used on a different mod.
Next time someone warps out on you because of stabs do us all a favour and cancel your subscription.

Edited by: B0rn2KiLL on 23/04/2006 23:22:22 if you cant fight`m, join`m. atleast till the devs comeup with something to fix it. tbh i was one of the big "WTF WCS U SUCK U***" peeps. hell i used to suici jump a fleet alone, but thats mostly due to stupidity and being drunk. reality is, its there and itll be exploited by pirates and Carbears alike. it wont go away any time soon, so if all of ya just get with the program, and deal with it, they fit wcs? fine. you, me & everyone else : ->

c) Warp blob stabliser. In the period when you used to bump ships flying when you tried to take a bunch of big ships in close formation, you had multiple smaller roving gangs instead. Not suggesting that fix be undone, but it's worth thinking about.

Originally by: Merin Ryskin Ok, lets actually think about the consequences of nerfing WCS... what would happen if it was suddenly extremely difficult to fit any defenses against propulsion jamming? You'd have two results:
1) Exactly 1 warp scrambler becomes mandatory fitting. Since WCS are useless, it just takes one. You no longer need a dedicated tackler ship to keep your prey from escaping.
2) Avoiding combat becomes impossible. Since everyone's got their single warp scrambler fitted, if you ever get into a losing battle (whether you started it or it was forced on you by an ambush), you just get to die. PvE players no longer have the option to run from PvP combat, miners/haulers are effortless prey for pirates, etc.
Now the balance of power is completely shifted to favoring the attacker. Is this really what you want?
Honestly, if you can't keep your prey from warping out, you either need to start considering that a victory, or actually bother learning some tactics and getting a decent wingman to support you.
Perhaps the best defence would be to watch local/scan occassionally so you avoid getting jumped ? I mean, that would make sense and all.... And as is, fitting a scrambler does partially "technically" nurf yoru setup, you have 1 less mid slot than the person you are attacking.

i love seeing these "change X and EVERYONE WILL QUIT!!!" comments. No one will quit lol, and even if they did boo hoo. Try telling your government, if you change this law im gonna quit, and see what reaction they have.
so enough of that please, stop posting / leave / give me all your stuff if thats what you are thinking.
now onto the topic:
Currently the only way to ensure that you tackle a stabbed boat is with a gang which has given rise to "ganking" and "blobbing" because it ensure victory.
Perhaps if stabs were nerfed then people would go out solo more or in packs of 2 where the target might actually have a chance. You know, honor and all that.... maybe :p |

First off, the other guy running away with his tail between his legs is a win. Period. What that i hear skippy ? It doesn't give you killboard points ? Tough.
People have there own reasons for going stabbed, and the way i fly we'll normally still nail him 3 times out of five, cuz both me and my wingman will normally be packing 2 points of scramble. Sometimes they get out, sometimes they ave 5 stabs. Either way we make derisive comments on TS or in gang and go find something else to kill. I suggest you do the same.
PS.
When someone says 'you can fit a PERFECT set-up and still have room for stabs' i laugh so hard whatever im drinking comes through my nose, and if im not drinking something i go get a coke and read it again. If you can get a perfect set-up using 5 lows, imagine what you can achieve if you used all 8 more creatively ? Add cap relays for a more sustainable tank. Add 3 1600mm plates. Add Backup arrays. Add extra hardeners, or EANII. All of the above will improve your ship. And improve it a lot more than stabs.
