Heh....Was recently introduced to the Joys of Gallente Frigs ( trained to 4, for future Worm fun, but never bought one before...)
I have to say, the Tristan just rocks...
Hi:
2 X Arbalest Rocket Launcher
2 X 75mm Prototype I Gauss Guns
Med:
1 X Cold-Gas Arcjet Thruster
1 X Small Clarity Ward Booster
1 X Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Low:
3 X PDU I
1 X Hobgoblin
Heh...1280 shields on a frig...how ridiculous. Lol.
Not great damage, but you can outlast just about everything (at least in most missions, lvl 2's are cake, some 3's I gotta go grab a Cruiser...)
I hardly ever have to use shield booster, with the 3 pdu's the 1280 shields regen at an impressive enough rate, so I'm thinking about slapping a Web on it. Might do a bit more damage that way.

Try some blasters on it... get in range and unleash a hail of lead.... or better yet antimatter. After all gallente guns are blasters.
p.s. If you like that beast you should see the assault frigs... enyo is a beastwhile the ishkur is the bane of most other assault frigs etc. |

T1 frig: well... i like the rifter, kessie and punisher all equally... some galente frigates i love.. but not as much
oh and to the person who started the thread, caldari navy hookbill... 4200 sheilds, recharging 45 a second, with the same damage potential as that tristan, and a far better tank, and general coolness. I can do any lvl 2, and the few lvl 3s i ahev attmpted, i need to do more... yeah... one helluva frig.... looks TEH SEXORZ too!
oh, and the kessie i very nice... but the problem is its too off balance... if u see what i mean.... sure I solo in 0.0 with it, but i also solo with a rifter and a punisher, and they do the job differenty, nto better or worse.
there is a helluva lot of difference from jumping from a AC rifter into a pulst punisher, for 12 thing i sheild tank the rifter, and the punisher uis armour tanked (both can tank multiple BS spawns indefinately) but wit hthe rifter, i orbit at 500 m, with the punisher i orbit at 2000, the kessie doesent do orbiting very well as its slow, so u take time to get to the whatever, and u also have bigger sig radius (IIRC) and get more damage... but it still does the job!
so i guessim trying to say... all frigs are brilliant, in their own little way. (cept the bantam, just tried mining with it and realised how ******* **** IT IS! crap bonii on a mining frig 4TL)

Most fun frig is the Rifter probably.
It's the only one fast enough to play the frig's role. An AB is enough to outrun medium drone tracking. Slowboating in a frig is an unhappy experience. In group pvp, any delay to begin applying your weapon systems effects is huge, which is why I don't like short range weapons on small platforms. I haven't gone over 350m/s in a month or more probably and I'm getting pretty angsty.
It may have the second worst cap in its category, but it seems to be sufficient, and running out of cap doesn't disable its firepower.
It has 3 midslots.
It's bad at tanking, but when you get right down to it, when you're in a frig, you're usually either taking lots of damage or no damage. Against missiles is about the only situation you might benefit marginally from a tank, and even then, probably not.
Now if you're just npcing, well, then just about any frigate is adequate and can be alot of fun. The same is true for covops-assisted, close range combat.
